This is the most dreadful story. The boys arrested are aged between 13 and 15. One child dead and other young lives ruined or, at the very least, blighted.

I don’t have more words….just profound sadness.

A child has been murdered and the best AB can offer is more petty bickering and grandstanding? Shame. RIP Ava. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

And me, if only I could understand them :0(

And for irony, read stinking hypocrisy...

I too would rather read PPs nonsensical ramblings.

You can actually decypher them ??
I wouldn't call 20:40 'at night' - it is evening, and it happened just after the lights were turned on. This was a family event and everyone should have been safe.
No victim blaming, please - or parent blaming.
A 12 yr old in a town at 8pm Barry, should be with an adult
Who is victim blaming or parent blaming?

I blame only the mindless thug who killed this young girl and, since there are a fair few of them about, especially in big city centres on a Saturday night, I would not let my 12-year-old out without and about at that time and place without an appropriate adult.

The poor child's mother worked at the Primark store which is only yards away from the lights . Perhaps she was meeting her mother as well. The knife carriers were not there to see the lights switched on for sure. How about condemning their rabble parents instead of the innocent victims. Meehh.

FGS barmaid, halt the rush to the high moral ground, ABers are only giving their opinion.
A tragedy indeed. Maybe best we hear the circumstances before we decide what may have happened .

child dead liverpool, stabbed
and if you cant decipher that - - then dont criticize.

Benjy Stanley, child dead Manchester 1994 drugs, blown away unsolved
Togo, then maybe a responsible adult, older sibling?im not blaming a parent, kids will be kids I’m sure but I still feel her going into a city centre at 8pm with crowds was dangerous, that’s the world we live in
I wouldn't let a young girl of 12 out after dark either, but that girl could have been older, perhaps 17/18 and could still have been stabbed.
The problem is the boys that carry weapons and are unstable.
Get into an argument with some young lads and if he has a knife and loses his temper, the chances are , he will use it.
Again, this goes for any age although just lately, it seems to be boys of 13/14/15 yrs old. It's a really sad state of affairs.
Again, who is condemning the victim? I've not seen one single post that has done so.

The point here is that the world is a dangerous place and I for one wouldn't and couldn't allow a 12-year-old to roam a town centre on a dark Saturday night without an adult.

Furthermore this is an internet forum where people discuss and give opinions. If this thread was meant to be a "book of condolence" it shouldn't have been posted in News.
Totally agree LadyCG ^^^^^
Read my post again. The child's family were victims, although their suffering will be long term. A working mother loses a child to a knife wielder at a Christmas lights switch on in a "civilised" City centre. When I was 12 years old I could take younger siblings to such an occasion with no danger to any of us, other than the usual catch the bus at the right place and time one, and did. Our new and exciting Britain is not what was promised. It seems to need young lost lives to illustrate it for some.
Togo in your day and mine the world was a very different place.

I certainly share your sentiments there.

I've no doubt the perpetrators will be given a short a short sentence, a new identity and then a new life in Australia, all at the expense of the tax payer.
Squad, whatever the crime never ever blame the victim, that's the easy solution.
And this comes after years of talking about how we should tackle knife crime. Probably more years than ths girl was alive.

I don't have any more words either. Just incredibly sad.
God there are 12 y olds all over the place
a fact of life
