Though, I was once touched up by a man & that wasn't pleasant, for him neither - he got a 'sock in the kisser'
AH, since my name is the only one you've mentioned in your post, I'll address your comments. I don’t believe she's an attention seeker or seeking financial gain - and I've said neither. Intelligent women do not become 'traumatised' (as Anneasquith would have it) by a smack on the bottom. Miffed at the time yes - but 20 years on? I think not. This woman is muck-raking.
//he got a 'sock in the kisser//

Was he a foot fetishist?
Thought you might have turned the other cheek, Khandro :-J
Anneasquith, had she not waited 20 years neither her character not her intention would have been called into question. Fact is, we don’t know that her allegation is true - nonetheless you (and others) are not only willing to believe it but eager to believe it, so in effect more than happy to do a bit of character assassination on Stanley. Convenient double standards going on there.
Is it any wonder that people don't come forward with the suggestion that they are muck raking.
character *nor*
RH, how do you know her allegation is true?
If its untrue/made up though Naomi it seems very odd and a bit risky to actually name the person, in the context of the discussion she could of just said 'a prominent person' or similar
I don't anymore than you know its false.
But you presume to suggest its false and muckraking
Naomi // Intelligent women do not become 'traumatised' //

Good Grief...................
So now AB is Victim Shaming. What a lovely place this is becoming. Some women can laugh off things, some women take things to heart and become anxious -and this has nothing to do with their IQ!
Get it right, apg.

RH, but you're willing to believe her. Why? And why is she speaking out now? What purpose can be served by it?
apg,//So now AB is Victim Shaming//

You don't know that she is a 'victim'.
Naomi get what right for goodness sake ? -I'm not the one spouting rubbish like //Intelligent women do not become 'traumatised' //
Actually I am neither willing to believe of disbelieve her, I havent' read the news story.
What sickens me is that people are willing to basically call her a liar without any evidence and then wonder why assaults are not reported!
and you Naomi do not know that she is 'not' a victim.
apg. You're selectively editing my post and hence quoting me inaccurately. Get THAT right.
RH, I haven't called her a liar but I have questioned her motives.
The automatic thoughts for some are - 'she's in it for the money'. She may be, she may not be. But to decide on any ulterior motive, without any evidence, or decide she has no right to be 'traumatised' is ignorant.
