Bobbi, if my sister was judged by me, she'd be surrounded by angels singing Hallelujah. If I was judged by her I'd probably be run out of town with pitchforks and burning torches. We're not responsible for what out parents and siblings do, we can't choose our family.

they're scrapping the air bridge scheme (another bright idea that literally went nowhere) and lifting the ban on non-essential travel to about 90 countries

Hate to be seen as nit picking , honestly I’m not jno, but has this happened yet?
Bobbi, I think the only way to find out is to ring an insurance company and ask.

Just advice not any rules.

Insurance is probably difficult and very expensive but I should imagine Stanley isn't too worried about his finances. Is there any legal obligation to have insurance when you travel abroad?

But this thread wasn't about insurance.

Apc, I stopped sticking up for Boris way back in it ...haha

Insurance companies won’t pay out if you go against travel advice,I’m in the process of renewing mine
not yet, Bobbi, the announcement is expected tomorrow. Once the ban is lifted your travel insurance will be valid if you go to one of the countries specified and as I understand it you won't have to go into automatic quarantine for 14 days here when you get back.

It's still up to other countries to decide if they want to let Brits in, though. This is just about the UK letting Brits out.
Question Author
Thanks jno, that makes sense
As I said Bobbi, I doubt Stanley is too worried about insurance pay outs. And sticking up for Boris or not isn't the point. What Stanley does is none of Boris' business.

Yes I think we’ve established that at 64-2 apc :0)
Surely this is actually more about Mr Johnson infringing Greek travel rules by entering the country from Bulgaria to get round a ban on UK nationals

Greece had said British Tourists could travel there on 1st July which is probably why Stanley went earlier this week. But then they delayed it by a fortnight to the middle of July.

Uk Holidaymakers have been allowed to travel for a few weeks, but they were supposed to self quarantine for 2 weeks on their return. But no one is policing that. I saw friends on Monday who had just returned from Turkey. They had done a Stanley and went to ready their Turkish home/Villa to let to Tourists when the season belatedly kicks off.

Greece, like the UK and everyone else, are happy to have business travel, but don’t wants swarms of holidaymakers -yet. The Greek authorities would regard Johnson’s trip as business, and it sounds like they were happy for him to enter their country.
Not that it bothers me. I don’t care what he does, but why travel via Bulgaria?
No direct flights?
Like Father . like son , a pair of idiots.
According to Grant Shapps and Boris. Worzel,s Father has done no wrong.
Gulliver, so tell us, what has he done wrong?
"So tell us what he has done wrong" . Presenting the UK with his Son Boris as PM , thats what he has done wrong Danny.
