morning, Saturday already, the week has flown by. I hope you are all well and in good spirits.
anyone have any plans for the day? Apart from a phone call from a friend this morning i have no other plans. But that could change dependent on the weather. A friend has invited me to brunch tomorrow, which is something to look forward to.

Hi Emmie, keeping well?
Miserable weather down here again today, might as well live in Old Blighty ;-/

Question Author
hurt my back bending down to put some rubbish in the bin, i am sure within a few days it will ease off, but it's a nuisance more than anything. How are you apart from cold, wet....
That's no good Em, be more careful!

I'm ok thanks, the rain is welcome, the cold wind isn't.

Spent today looking after the local antique/junk shop.
Refurbished a couple of items and made quite a few sales.
Hopefully Mrs Steptoe will be happy.
Question Author
i wasn't doing anything strenuous, and felt it go, no fun at all at this age with the knee problems too.

that's good of you to look after someone's shop, is she really called
Mrs. Steptoe?
I can put my back out without trying to.
Gotta be careful of how I go about things..

No, it's my pet name for the old dear. She reminds me of old Mr Steptoe, both in looks and character;-).
She hasn't paid me for the last 3 times I've looked after her shop yet.
Can't wait to see the look of horror when I tell her how much she owes me.
Question Author
i thought as much, that would be too much of a coincidence, Mrs
Steptoe, lol
Question Author
no one can look like old Steptoe.
Barbara does!!!!
A female version of Albert Steptoe.
If only my name was Harold :-)
Question Author
that's funny, why do you work there for no wages? is she going to pay for the last three times...
She will pay me, but it's like trying to wring blood from a stone, a worthy challenge.
I refurbish quite a bit of furniture for her and look after her shop occasionally. But I've started refusing to sell her furniture I make myself.
Question Author
i couldn't be bothered with people like that. Still if you enjoy working there, then that's fine, hopefully she will pay you soon.
It's an interesting shop, very large and full to the brim of old things, valuable antiques, absolute junk and many oddities.
Tomorrow she will be opening her wallet and counting out enough money to make her sob!
I'll try my best to hide my smile:-)
Morning all,
We started the moving process yesterday.
Got a van loaded it and took it to the auction house, the loaded all my husband gym equipment and too that to the cottage and finally loaded a load of ikea furniture and took it back to them as they buy it back and recycle it, meant our new rugs and blankets didn’t cost anything!
Another busy day ahead just taking some painkillers before starting the next load of packing etc

morning RH
Hi Emmie
Question Author
sounds like you have your work cut out RH.
It’s awful Emmie, I am shattered already and in pain!
We do have removal men coming in December but so much to sort out and dispose of before then.
We are on holiday for 2 weeks from next Saturday so it just adds to the pressure
Question Author
perhaps the holiday is needed, to take the pressure of for a few weeks.
