**Services may have to be cut unless NHS England receives an extra £10bn in funding next year, groups representing the health service have warned.**

I can help them a little. A close relative of mine received a letter from her GP inviting her to have a shingles jab. This was on 27th August. She made an appointment for today and arrived as instructed. "I'm not ready to give you your jab" says the nurse, "because you are not yet 70."

"But you invited me. The letter said nothing about being over 70. If that's the case why did you send the letter? In any case you took my date of birth when I made the appointment. Anyway, I'm 70 in three days' time so it should be alright, surely."

"Sorry. I'll make you another appointment."

"No you ****ing won't. You've wasted enough of my time and of taxpayers' money. I'll take my chances."

So, an appointment wasted. A letter wasted. Nurse's time wasted. Patient untreated. "The envy of the world?"

The UK has been defined as a National Health Service with a country attached, the average pay for a doctor is now £100,000 p.a. & my daughter has had to wait 3 weeks to see one in person. No political party dare take on the inevitable task of a complete reform. The NHS is most definitely not 'the envy of the World'.

The problem is management idiocy isn't just in the NHS it's rife throughout the country. On Saturday I received a letter, two A4 pages, from my bank, telling me I didn't owe them any money and they didn't owe me any.
Last time I was in hospital a nurse came in to do my obs, which she wrote down on a form. 10 minutes later another nurse came in with some sort of machine to domy obs - they've just been done I said. They're not recorded he said, and did them again. 15 minutes elapsed a third one wandered in - I've just come to do your obs! At that point I gave up. Just a small thing but what a waste of time and money
The NHS is always whining it's skint.

We could give the NHS the whole tax-take of the UK, and the promise of a free Unicorn for every NHS worker, and they'd still say they're broke.

'Twas ever thus.
Gully - the £350m - we dont mention that as the site-Nazis have forbidden any refernence

as big mouth Farage said - mouth wide open - oh we shouldnt have said that ....
once again gully demonstrates his illiteracy. Show me where anything is promised on a bus?
You know damn well what it said on the side of the bus TTT. Don't act the goat pleading ignorance. Your brother bunter had his photo taken beside it too.
It is probably costing Boris £350m per week to fund the Con Crony club.
Vulcan, I know just just you mean. I bank online and every month my bank sends me a letter through the post telling me my statement, which I can view online at any time, is ready to view online. Potty.
For goodness sake stop with the bus. Do you people really not understand English? Or government?
The Bus, is a deliberate red herring. NHS not fit for purpose, too many chiefs, way too much incompetence, and indifference. Needs a total rethink.
vulcan, you may need the letter if at any time the bank changes its mind and asks you why you haven't paid. A nil balance is still a balance.
Do people not sign up for paperless banking? I never receive any postal communication from any of my bank accounts. Statements, end of year statements etc is all online.
You wait half an hour then dozens arrive at once. :-)
17.39 "For goodness sake stop with the bus",,,, Why Naomi ,,,,,,
Does it hurt every time someone reminds you of how you were radicalised by Boris and you were gullible enough to believe him and Farage.
no it just reminds us that you are illiterate.
//What happened to the weekly donation the NHS was told to expect from Boris's Bus, was it £350m PW he promised if every person he radicalised voted Brexit .//
The bus message was'nt a good idea but dont you know that over £2000 million a week allready goes to are NHS and my guess is that this went up by close to £350million a week during the pandemic on vaccinnes, Nightingales, testing kits, PPE for hospitals, overtime, agency nurses doctors, care home health costs, extra patients with extra meal's, beds etc
The phrase on the bus was "We send the EU £350 million a week. Let's fund our NHS instead".

Okay, so either tell us where that weekly £350m is going or admit that it was a lie to gain leave votes. It doesn't change the result of the referendum, what's done is done, but let's have some honesty.
Mozz, none of the nasty righties will reply honestly to your question; all you will get will be insults and waffle.
