Coalition was there for 20 years and has left things worse than they found them...

is resettling those who can flee the taliban the least we can do or shall we batten down the hatches and leave them to their fate?

the battle has already been lost toratoratora... would you go and fight? i wouldn't.
I think any country has an obligation to try and protect refugees if the roles were reversed i know i would want my family to get sanctuary
Obligation or not - they will come!
Of course they should take in Afghan refugees as the West had introduced them tothe Western way of life.

The "West " has just dumped them tothe fate of the victorious Taliban who will reap revenge.

You are asking the Afghans to take on theTaliban something the might ofthe West couldn't do in 20 years.
untitled: "the battle has already been lost toratoratora... would you go and fight? i wouldn't. " - what battle, they might as well have invited them over for a shisha! Why should I go and fight? I would if it happenned here. You can bet, that even in these days of twitface snowflakes etc we'd put up more resistance here than they have.

I would not go and fight if the army/police/government had collapsed tora. I really don't think many of us would... it would not make sense. Who would they be fighting for? the government has effed off.
dont afghan women have a long tradition of fighting too?
//No, their men should be fighting for their own country.//

As you pointed out, Tora, more than 600 of them managed to find the energy to storm a USAF Globemaster yesterday and as you also pointed out, the womenfolk of those men (wives, daughters, mothers, sisters) seemed a bit thin on the ground.

I don't know how long it will be before people in the West accept that theirs is a fundamentally different society to ours and no amount of "education" will alter that. Without a doubt, some of the "culture" of that society will be transferred to the UK along with the 20,000 or so "vulnerable" Afghans the PM has his eyes on importing. He says he will concentrate on women and girls. Good luck to him with that because if the Globemaster's cargo is anything to go by, women and girls will not even be in the queue for tickets to the UK, let alone at the front of it.
Of course, among the many refugees the UK is likely to accept there will be a fair number of Al Qaeda. Just what we need. In any case the Taliban won't let them leave so they'll have a job even getting out.
Yep looks like another 20k of convicts and terrorists being imported to the UK, as if we haven't got enough riff raff walking the streets.
11:41, Judge, bang on as usual.
^ Ditto and ditto to 11:49 as well.
The only ones that the UK might be morally obliged to take are those who actively collaborated with UK forces and may be at risk.

If you were in charge NewJudge what would you do with people fleeing the taliban who turned up to plead for asylum in the uk?
I feel so sorry for all those people who voted for Brexit, to keep
migrants/refugees out of the UK...... But in fairness they didn't see this happening at the time
(Actively collaborated) with the UK, that's interesting, did they really, or just lead them into well planed attacks???
this is all a bit post facto and late innit?

Yeah the english translators are looked on as spies and traitors and we should take them on. On 9/11 the CIA had one Pushtu speaker - and the way he put - "I want to go to Florida and not Siberia"
the way he put it was

In afghan, diarrhoea is a way of life ....

this was around the time that Trump was referring to ++++hole countries

( contrary opinion - so Andy H ( Hi Andy!) will pop around the corner and say it is incomprehensible hoo-ey)

In Iran 1979, the embassy fell and al the CIA contacts disappeared over the next two years. - see Argo - - - more incomprehensible hoo-ey for the masses
