Same here APG, I'm in lower managerial role and don't earn 36k. My manager doesn't get that either. And we're London based.

Average will include an awful lot of people on minimum wage so it will drag it down. To be in the top 10% you have to be on over 150K. Seems I was lucky to be earning that, most dont though.

Fair pay is more important than equal pay, because if it's paid fairly, work of equal worth is automatically equally rewarded. £260k is clearly not fair pay for chatting on the TV for a short while, for 3 days a week.

I would not believe everything on the web – I just looked at a site claiming the information from the ONS. Looking at the data for my profession (besides the salary) it states that men in this profession earn 31% more than women and that 100% in the profession are men.

For some time now it has been possible to produce a real-time image of a person, with that image totally controlled by software.

It would be very simple for a news program to use such a technique in their news broadcasts – saving well over £1 million/year based on the BBC pay-scales.

While there would be a default setting for the news-reader image (and voice) – it would be possible for viewers to select their news-reader/voice. If you wanted, Holly from Red Dwarf (or anyone else for that matter) could be reading your news on TV.

This has me wondering if any TV station around the world has already tried this?
