Hymie -the problem is there is very little real news on the BBC and ITV now a days. It's all 'Magazine' stuff now. The European news channels have the real news these days.
When did DD claim to be on a £150k salary?
Question Author
//"saving well over £1 million/year based on the BBC pay-scales."

How have you calculated your savings?//

One news-reader is paid over £250k for working 3 days; with two presenters per show that’s ½ a million for only 3 days a week – and don’t forget the taxi fares from Sheffield to Salford.
"For some time now it has been possible to produce a real-time image of a person, with that image totally controlled by software."

How much would that cost to implement?
Question Author
I would think the BBC were being ripped-off if they paid more than £10k for such software.
How did you arrive at your £10,000 figure?
TCL //When did DD claim to be on a £150k salary?//

He didn't. APG picked a random figure out of her a... I mean, out of the air.
Question Author
I’m pretty sure such software is available now – it might even be open source (available for free). I would offer to investigate and report back, but I’ve not received an offer to be DG of the BBC yet – so I’m playing my cards close to my chest.
In the link posted by APG, DD asked about a 90k salary and a 60k bonus.
He also added.

"Its not me (I wish!)"
In that link he stated, "Its not me (I wish!)"

If it actually was him, he WAS receiving £150,000 in which case APG was wrong to say he was not getting £150,000 a year.

If he was being truthful, APG is wrong to say he has claimed to be in receipt of that amount since he hasn't claimed that in this thread either.
HYMIE, you're saying it might be £10,000 or it might be free. In other words, you have no idea.
This is an anonymous site APG, so to what end would I achieve by telling lies? Why would I want to impress strangers? It’s completely illogical.

Still I love it when somebody tries to prove a point and it completely backfires on them as happened to you on this thread yesterday - if you don’t feel stupid, you’ve certainly made yourself look stupid.
seeing how some seem to be confused by my claim about equal pay, then how about equal work with men and women should come equal pay.
if i were earning 100k for reading the news firstly i would be ecstatic second if my male counterpart was earning 150k for doing the same job i would be miffed.
So would you agree Charlie Stayt has a right to be miffed as he earns less than Naga Munchetty? (or at least he did so when there was the furore about BBC wages a couple of years ago - don’t know if he still does).
if he does equal work alongside her then yes he should get equal pay
if it hadn't been for Carrie Gracie, the China Correspondent, then this disparity wouldn't have been known about. She fought for equal pay and won including back pay. she is no longer with the BBC
Pay might seem excessive but there are other channels who pay more to get the best. Lineker wont get minimum wage or just £40k from bt. lawrie mair, chris Evan's are just 2 of many who were 'overpaid' on bbc but got better money elsewhere.
but they aren't using the public money that is generated through the TV LIcence
