My sister who lives in Alberta, told me she is having her AZ vaccine next week. She has cancelled twice, as she is a bit anxious. Said hers was coming from India. I haven't mentioned this latest news about blood clots. Not sure if she'd seen it or not.
A gift to the paranoid anti vaxxers. Should have kept it quiet.
The Europeans keep shooting themselves in the feet
WHO have said there is no evidence. Are there any stats from the UK on deaths linked to blood-clotting following AZ vax?
Oh dear , Is it the Oxford one?.
Yes. Figures dont show anything but if there struggling to get the vaccinne its good idea to use the time just to check the data and then resume faxing once they get the go ahead and more supply comes in
^ autocrrect changed vaxxing to faxing
Yes it is the Oxford one....but here in the UK, blood clotting post vaccination is actually lower than the general population at large.....I accept that there could be a batch issue depending where it has been made but, yes, it could also be a bit of a political cover-up by Europe, fuelled by the Russians pushing their shyyte (at $30 plus Vat a pop was it into Hungary?) - Profiteering of the worst order.
The other thing I think we ought to keep in mind is that its been said that Europe generally has a much more suspicious attitude to vaccination in general than the UK does. The Eu afe kind of damned if they do and damned if they don't
After reading all the reports about A-Z lately, I am glad I had the Pfizer and if I had have had the A-Z, I would not now be having the second jab. To be honest, I find this very concerning and even though it may NOT cause blood clots, why then is it news .....
I had the A-Z one 5 weeks ago and I'll be taking the same one in 7 weeks
Good for you.
burlyshirley, its in the news because, as I said, Europe has a much more suspicious attitude towards vaccine in general than the uk

I think it's a case of when one or two European countries halt their vaccination programme due to concerns, one by one other countries will do the same because they don't want to be seen to be carrying on if there is a perceived risk. A bit of a domino effect.
Europe should have read answerbank, there are at least a dozen posters who have asserted strongly for months that there were zero risks to the vaccine, some adding disdain to anyone who had concerns, often with the icing - it's better than being dead.
It's in the news obviously because it has become an issue and the media thrive on it. I would rather have my 2nd jab with a very miniscule risk of a blood clot, than not have it, which would increase the much larger risk of having a dreadful illness and probably dying from it at my age. I certainly will be going for my 2nd jab in 5 week, unless things change.
That is not how I see it.
Clots in the leg veins and inthe lungs are certainly no more common than in the general population.......no big deal.
It seems clear that a rare or relatively rare disorder called cerebral venous thrombosis, a clotting disorder of the veins in the brain ,is rearing its ugly head and may be causing problems.
I have never seen a case, but if it is true then....this IS a big deal.
The WHO are going to review any case studies and statistics and will make a statement...on Thursday I think.

This is NOT Political but purely a medical problem.
This scare will have a massive effect on Europe where numbers are again rising. The seeds of doubt have been sown yet again.
In the U.K., 4 people have had motor accidents within 3 weeks of having having the Astra Zeneca jab. The A.A and R.A.C have advised all people who have the injection to drive carefully.
Prudie - I agree. I was undecided about having the jab, but felt picked on if I dared to voice that on here, my feelings were that the vaccine had been rushed through. In the end I went with it, but still have the odd fear if I experience a pain I never had before ! Still glad I didn't have the A-Z and worry about my friend who did, and she is worried too.
