Not at all derek. Sleep well and sleep sound. This is just one more little blip in mankind’s long history. We shall enjoy millions of tomorrow’s.

I don't think so, but who knows what variants will come along.
no.
Yes...all part of the great reset.
No, it's just a cull, not an extinction.
No.
No.
No.

Even in the very worse case scenario, mankind will prevail.
no.
It's almost certain that humanity is at no risk of extinction from *any* pandemic, really. It's not in any disease's interests to kill off all its hosts.
yeah but jim, how does the disease "know"?
Ozzy Osbourne and Krith Richards will still be around.
Oh yes, cockroaches too!
It doesn't "know", woofgang, but any disease that killed too efficiently would die out rapidly, eg because it would kill its victims before spreading to enough new hosts. The reverse is the case for Covid. It's not *that* deadly amongst most of those infected, but that serves to help it spread far and wide.

Not that deadly perhaps but it's effect on thought processes is profound, especially political minds.

the nature of biological variation is such that there will (almost) always be survivors.
Darwin and God made biological variation that various - erm - so that challenges cd be handled by the centre or outliers

white lab mice dont have this luxury ( this is intended by the way)
and so - - - by the by - it is why after the lab, you then have to test in the population after lab tests just to see if it works OK

these difficulties are mirrored in vaccine research ( will it work etc)
ebola got pretty near to that
80% case fatality ration.

BUT was controlled latterly by standard public health regs
the mistake was concluding that covid cd be controlled in the same way
Easiest answer ever.

No.

Have I just won Answerbank?
no because you are late
Yes, but not solely by covid, humanity has already destroyed its own environment to an alarming degree. Half of the world's species have been eradicated within just my lifetime, along with a staggering amount of natural resources.

Gaia (see Lovelock) will heal the planet, but mankind is a passing blip.
If your outstretched arm's length is relative to the life of the planet, one stroke of a nail file on your middle finger represents the time of human life on Earth.

Earth's population in 1900 - 2 billion, today, 8 billion; unsustainable!
none of that means extinction khandro
