Why are they bothering when he's leaving in 10 days anyway ? If they do, would he still be called Mr.President with all the security etc. after he leaves as other ex presidents are ?

But the fact is, the security was so lax that anything could have been taken in there, carried around, and ultimately left somewhere it hasn't been found yet or taken back out again.
Not only that, but "the physical breach of the Capitol building opens a cybersecurity Pandora’s box" ...

I can't see the reason why you're so determined to split hairs about this point. Some people involved in the rioting are reported to have had various weapons, some of which go bang, some of which go boom. Does it matter whether they were inside the capitol building or not? Do you think they bought them for show or are you doubting they existed?

Determining the facts is not splitting hairs.
"Does it matter whether they were inside the capitol building or not? "
False rhetoric inflames many situations, and jim360 was specific on his claims. So yes it does matter, as the danger becomes immediate if they were in the same building as the lawmakers.
MSM and social media are inflamed enough with this pitch invasion.

Well, as it said in the link I provided, there were reports of such, and the one of the collection of molotov cocktails (in a vehicle, not the capitol building itself) was reported days ago. Like others on here, I cannot verify myself for obvious reason, only report what has been reported by the news networks.
If I have misunderstood or exaggerated the scale of what actually happened, I apologise. In researching the links above, I see that most people relied on their fists, or stuck to flags and posturing. But, as far as I could see, there is plenty of reporting that some people did bring weapons into the Capitol itself, several others clearly intended to bring much more in, and there were explosives in and around the area. So in that sense I stand by my claims, although the overriding point is that, for a period of several minutes and up to a few hours, the Capitol was completely vulnerable to any attack of any kind whatsoever. Just because, this time, that threat didn't materialise doesn't reduce the fact that it could have, and that is more than troubling.
What's also troubling is that there are plenty of signs to suggest that this isn't even close to the last of it -- for example, specific threats have been made as regards the Inauguration and the days leading up to it. Whether or not they come to fruition is another matter, that time alone will tell. Perhaps we are saved from the worst of it by most far-right extremists being only wannabe terrorists: one thing that did seem to be true about the events on Wednesday is that the majority seemed almost surprised that they got so far and didn't have that much of a plan for what to do when they got there. I'm not sure we can count on the good fortune of the protestors being so stunned by their success in future; for now we are lucky that we an only ask hypothetically what would have happened had the Senate and House Chambers not been evacuated in time. But perhaps the fate of Jo Cox provides at least a partial answer.
I don't believe that Trump is a fascist, nor do I believe that Biden is a socialist. Part of the problem in the debate on American politics is that people will use these extreme terms. More temperate terms (admittedly hard in the case of Trump) might well help the debate to be somewhat more considered.
jim360, perhaps this thread is worth a ponder:

Perhaps, but I don't believe anything I have said is wrong, at least not in a way that undermines anything I'm saying. It's possible that as further details emerge I'll revise my position, but I stand by my claims for now.
Feel free to conduct further research if you are curious; if it turns out that you find anything that contradicts the point then feel free to report back. Otherwise, it's better to focus on the material points rather than the minutiae.
