the koran and the bible are just different versions of the same thing, find any verse in one there is the equivalent in the other. The problem with Islam is that they are going through their, for want of a better term, Spanish Inquisition Phase. Where any sort of dissent is unacceptable to them. Yes in the past Christianity in most of its forms has been just as bad but today Islam is winning in the intolerance stakes.

I guess it's all up to the interpretation of the passages of any given holy book.

Luckily, Christians do not read it as a call to arms the way extremist Islamists do, although as Tora said, they did in the (fairly distant) past.

Although destroy can mean kill it is not necessarily so. It can also mean to bring to utter ruin.
