This is exactly why I won't be travelling until this madness is over. Why are these eejits so desperate do visit another country? Now it's a field day for the travel companies who can charge what they like. This was always bound to happen.

You always accuse me of nasty and bitter when really its just a case of you don't like my opinion, I leave you to sleep it off, before you go over the top.
You're right, I don't like you're opinions ( not many do ) sleep?haha
Poor man but what a worthwhile job he's doing David and obviously very conscientious too
but he did travel away during a pandemic which makes him an idiot not a hero in my opinion.
Was France on the 'don't go to ' radar then though?
Is the idiot real, he not only go's on holiday during a pandemic knowing full well things can go wrong, but then go's on to say.. I wish that the government had subsidised ( what he see's to be an urgent flight back home) well I've heard it all now, plus playing on the fact that he does work for the homeless, if it worried you that much mate why did you go and leave all them homeless folk to fend for themselves. What rubbish!!
It all seems rather arbitrary - 'Hammer and nut' job. The hotspots in France are clearly delineated. The vast majority of France is at our level of infection or below. We lived in the Poitou-Charentes (Vienne) and were wanting to go back to visit friends. Glad we didn't - but no-one has any Covid cases to report locally. I even rang our old medical practice to check. This blanket reaction really is ridiculous. Hope we are still alive to travel and meet other survivors next year. Fingers firmly crossed. One of our neighbours was widowed at Christmas and we would dearly love to go to see him.
Tora:
‘ society will come to its senses and realise that we have to learn to live with the virus and take practical common sense measures instead of following crackpot ideas’

I agree. So why aren’t you travelling now? The risk may well be much the same in years to come.
I think there will be better medications or vaccines to deal with it as time goes on. It's early days. At the moment the risks are too great to rush off on holidays, in my opinion. Spain, for instance, has admitted they are worrying again about their hospitals coping.
"I agree. So why aren’t you travelling now? The risk may well be much the same in years to come."

The problem is the dictatorial Government hell bent on removing our freedoms rather than the threat of a virus that has been shown to be not a killer.

There is an opportunity for Sir Kier here but for some reason, probably the in fighting, he is not taking advantage of useless Boris.
// please try and add something a little more constructive. NJ,//

How much more constructive do you want me to be? I've explained why I believe the blanket quarantine is nonsense; I've explained why I believe is no more unsafe to travel to foreign climes by air than it is to travel to Leicester by train. All I have in return is "I don't monitor infection rates any longer". Well I do.
What Teacake meant, NJ, by telling you to be more constructive, is you need to agree with him/her.
It's a HIM called Teacake DD :0))))
‘ The problem is the dictatorial Government hell bent on removing our freedoms‘

By creating air bridges?
Gotta love your best answer TTT.
Say's a lot about you ;-)
Oi! Nowt wrong with his BA :0))))
All it proves to me 1ozzy is that he has a sense of humour.
Exactly ILM
NJ @ 23.47, you may like to re-read my post at 16.37, my remark of being more constructive was made too curvylady, then followed in the same post to you. Then we had two idiots jump on the bandwagon after your post with their childish remarks.
