Would it be silly to ask if we can have a "white curriculum"? Of course we know the answer but surely history is history why cherry pick bits to suit an agenda?

The debate about what is/isn't included in History lessons has raged since I was at school (yes,that long and probably more) - in an increasingly crowded curriculum I don't see that changing.

I do know how to build a decent Pyramid though.

I Learned Kings, Queens, battles etc up to James 1st, then for the last two years studied British Economic and Social History, and I think I had a well balanced education.
What can black history teach me?

I was taught about the Roman Empire...but of course, the Romans only did good things. I really hope these people lawlessly pulling down statues don't start with the likes of Constantine the Great. Provided my ancestors with good food a job and hot baths he did.

My first lesson about Africa had to show me where it was first because I was about 5 and had never left Great Britain.
I learnt about a place called Lambarene where a nice French man did specil educshun first and lernt himself about medisun and then bilt a hospittal and cured all the black peeple who lived there for nuffing. He saved lots of lives but vey dont say much bout that do they.Cos they probibly wood be dead if it wasn't for this nice wite man from Alsace. They will not be teaching that the vast majority of all people taken into slavery in the Americas were purchased, yes purchased. The Europeans did not have the means or manpower to invade Africa. The Portuguese and Dutch learned the trade from the Arab traders that they encountered(particularly the Portuguese) who did enter Africa from the Arabian sea routes. The people who sold these people into slavery were all Africans. Black Africans. Perhaps all the black lives matter protesters should take a trip to Africa and remonstrate with excitement and fervour. See where that gets em. No compo out there, or reparations and coppers on their knees. Get themselves a nice necklace though.

Can you possibly imagine what a difference it would be if the slave traders had not taken the African people to the Caribbean and America? Maybe the wrong faction is condemning the slave trade of 300 odd years ago?
