Why bother with the courts? It seems you have decided that Floyd wasn't murdered.

very flattering but it is not up to me to determine any charge.

welcome to the gromit school of making up things I did not say.
I would be interested if the media could investigate a little more vigourously the circumstances leading up to his arrest and subsequent death. All we know is he was arrested for passing a $20 forged bill. I would like to know what else was in his bill fold or wallet. One forged banknote or the tendering of same , in the UK, does not warrant an arrest.Any one of us may have unwittingly been given one as change. However the possession of,say, ten forged notes would certainly be worthy of arrest and further investigation. I hope we get to learn of the bigger picture behind the arrest.

I meant what I wrote, nothing more.
retrocop - // Makes you wonder how bad a sinner has to be before a man of the cloth assigns them to the fiery depths.. Well the 'Lord loves a sinner'as they are wont to preach. //

That's twice you have made that point, and this time you have answered yourself.

In the eyes of a priest, any person is a child of God, and entitled to redemption - what else would you expect a bishop to say?
retrocop - // I would be interested if the media could investigate a little more vigourously the circumstances leading up to his arrest and subsequent death. //

I fail to see what a retrospective analysis of the lead-up to the arrest would benefit anyone involved.

The reason why he was arrested is not the issue - it is what happened during his arrest that is being discussed.

I hardly think that possessing ten forged bills instead of one justifies the excess force that led to Mr Floyd's death - do you?

Can't remember where I read it but the policeman and George Floyd had worked together previously.
For 3 minutes after he becomes unconscious, the officer still had his knee at Floyd’s neck. Not sure how you argue that is proportionate force when the man is dead.

// Floyd first appears to become unresponsive at 4:01. He stops talking, his eyes close, and his face is still. Bystanders start noticing this at 4:45. At 6:58 an officer checks his pulse. Officer Chauvin's knee doesn't come off Floyd's neck until 7:55, over 3 minutes after Floyd first seems to have gone unconscious. //
//very flattering but it is not up to me to determine any charge.//

Then it was probably unwise to say he wasn't murdered.

I did not argue that, I used the word "perhaps"

It is disgraceful that as a mod you alter what I actually say.
Gromit a Mod???
Wasn't he using the forged bill to buy drugs with? Whatever I don't think anyone would defend how he died and those responsible will hopefully receive the deserved punishment but how can sympathisers think he should be the right kind of martyr to figurehead what would be otherwise be a valid cause? He (allegedly?) held a gun to an innocent pregnant woman's stomach during a home invasion FGS.
Yeah, that was a newsflash to me as well Bobbs.
Yes it is very material . There has been much conjecture here wether the officer did or did not know Floyd and his criminal past. What happened and what caused his arrest prior to his death could be material to these events. Was there a private feud between the two before this.? Was the officer deliberately out to kill Floyd and used this as an excuse ?. Was the arrest and detaining Floyd lawful and justified? Could the arrest have been lawful and the prisoner was not compliant and had to be restrained or not?
Don't give up your day job A-H and try thinking outside the box. There are many pertinent questions that will have to be answered in court to establish the guilt. Try reading several previous posts and you will see ABers are wondering if there is more to this than the arrest for passing a $20 bill. As I wrote earlier that would not normally warrant automatic arrest if done unwittingly.

Just a presumption.
//Wasn't he using the forged bill to buy drugs with?//

I'm not sure how that would work Prudie. I can't imagine a dealer calling 911 to complain about a dodgy note.
Haha, I like it ^^^
I knew Gromit was a mod
I'm not sure how it would work either but that's what I heard.
Sparkly- You presumed he was a mod? How the heck did you come to that conclusion?
Well I suppose in the grand scheme of things, who cares?
