This time, he links the death of a murdered citizen, reactions to which are burning his country down around him, to his own self-aggrandisement about the unemployment figures.
He actually says that Mr Floyd will be 'looking down' on him, and that it's a 'great day for him ...'.
There are one or two possible holes in the President's reasoning I feel -
If Mr Floyd is looking down, he may be less inclined to be smiling about the employment figures, he might be pondering why he has been murdered, and what the President is actually going to do about the fallout from that.
Mr Floyd might also be wondering why the President thinks it's a 'great day' for him because … he is still dead!!
Of course, we should not be surprised at this latest nonsense from the President.
The simple fact, which he demonstrates time and time again is this -
President Trump cannot think on his feet - a pre-requisite for any politician at any level.
He is unable to stop what comes into his brain simultaneously coming out of his mouth, and sadly, what does come into his brain in unconnected random thoughts with no sense in them, or link between them.
You can see when he is doing this - first of all he looks right at the camera, which means (oh no!!!) - he has stopped reading the autocue, or any notes he has been given to prevent just such an occurrence as this.
Then his eyes glaze over as he launches into one of his stream-of-nonsense speeches, where he ceases to think at all, and simply says the random words that flit across his mind.
The clincher is the short pause, where even he realises that he has ceased to make any sense whatsoever, and he is simply babbling - again. But of course, he can't have silence, so his mouth starts up again with more of those unconnected meaningless words, and on he goes.
Someone in his administration should be saying "Read this - and only this - do NOT deviate from it in any way shape or form, and when you have read it, stop talking."
The chances are someone does this, but being Donald Trump, he knows better and takes no notice.
The USA is being run by a man whose brain simply does not function normally, and here is proof - again, as if we needed it.

Perhaps jim 360 you would be advised to let this matter be decided by a judicial hearing. It is quite abhorrent how a criminal died in the course of his arrest but as it was accepted procedure for the Minneapolis Police Dept to train their officers to use a neck restraint then perhaps it is the department that should be held to account. Other U.S. Police depts. would steer clear of this method of restraint. The suspect was handcuffed but we did not see the full picture before the camera footage from an unverified source. This death may well of been unintentional but it is not for you and I to make that call. That is why we have a justice system to deliberate in a democratic society. I fail to see how any Police officers will now receive a fair trial after most states in the U.S. have received a sample of torching and looting by 'sympathetic peaceful 'demonstrators.
Yes, we'll see what comes up in the trial, but that doesn't address the other incidents I highlighted.
As to birdie: of course it's being politicised. Why should it not be? Even if you take the racism issue out of the equation then there's still the question of what is wrong with a police force that sanctions such methods of restraint, and what is wrong with police officers that willingly carry it out to the bitter end and didn't stop what they were doing? Why shouldn't people be angry when the service that is meant to protect them ends up killing them? It's an endemic problem in the US in particular. Floyd was one of many victims, and he will not be the last, but maybe this time the anger will start to make a difference.

Thankfully, no more, although one wonders why it didn't occur to anyone that neck restraints might be dangerous sooner. As it is, at least Floyd's death has forced them to realise the blindingly obvious.

Hoping that someone gets a bullet in the head is no lady whatever their political opinion and implying and by implication that is OK because others have stated it over the last three years is not OK. I have not seen anyone other than Teacake state that POTUS should get a bullet in the head and Asquith should put up or shut up unless she can provide a C&P that others have stated the same. No nurse would agree that anyone should die if they were what they say they were.

Police officers in the UK were/are trained to use baton rounds in public order riots. They were available but never utilised in the Broadwater Farm estate because Gold control had not the bottle to ask the H.O. to use them. The previous alternative considered was 00 buckshot from a shotgun. A police officer was hacked to death by machetes. Surely an occasion were a lethal assault should be prevented by a non lethal deterrent. Problem was the baton round had actually killed rioters in Northern Ireland. Oh dear. That wasn't supposed to happen. It was an accident and was not supposed to be non lethal.
Like wise. Tasers were introduced to combat close quarter lethal threats to police officers. The earlier alternative was a known lethal round from a firearm. The result was found, in certain circumstances, that owing to underlying health conditions the victim who posed a lethal threat to an officer died because of the use of a so called non lethal taser deployment. Likewise. In order to render an assailant harmless mace spray was issued to officers. It transpires that certain violent offenders, who resist arrest and have respiratory problems may die by that deployment. Apart from 'pata cake lets be friends' what else would you suggest is a method of making an arrest of a violent prisoner without knowing the full medical history and ensuring 100% that he will not die with the methods provided to protect the officer effecting the arrest. As a scientist I am sure the Police College would look forward to your suggestion. It would, for sure, prevent a load of property belonging to innocent people being destroyed and it's contents being stolen.
