The President cleared the room when he admitted taking hydroxychloroquine.
He had also found a doctor to prescribe it

and MY question is : if a relative did that and died - would you complain to the authorities ( GMC and courts here ) that the doctor had NOT acted in the patients ( your relative that is!) best interests and should pay you ( the estate ) much moolah and lose his licence

Note to help posters - hydroxyChlor does NOT have a licence to be used in warding off covid

Hmm.. What I want to know mister football man(Dylan) is.... Are the "press" concerned about the potential hazard to Trump's health.....or are they concerned that this perfectly safe drug will indeed protect him from the virus? If Shillery takes it is it OK? Will Ohhbamma demand his share.....If the Trumpster said it was not to be taken under any circumstances would the me deah, and the luvvies, overdose on it? We all know the answers maam but the teachers refuse to conduct an exam.

Neither obviously. It's just another interesting story about DT doing something bizarre.
But back to your question. If I had an adult reli in their right mind who decided to do it and could find a doc crazy enough to prescribe it, then I would of course try to dissuade them but ultimately let them make their own decision.
In the 1950s it was given to British Servicemen(mostly conscripts) regularly as part of the "health" plan for men overseas. No ill effects were ever reported it seems. This drug is now cheap, out of patent, effective and the big Pharma Corporations do not like it one bit.
but but but Togo....would ill effects have been reported then or would it have been "get up you orrible little man there is nowt wrong with you"
Looks like it, pasta. They should have stuck with the Chloroquine.
Just think, if he doesn't die, we'll never actually know why - was it because the stuff he took was harmless and didn't kill him, or was it because it prevented him getting Covid-19.
Or......... is he telling lies ?
He's only half scottish, anne.
Why is Trump on this drug?
It boosts the immune system (according to some people)
Ok, but is he on it because first of all a doctor thought it would be a good idea and then he persuaded the President of this, or because first of all the President thought it would be a good idea and then he persuaded his doctor of this?

yeah completely safe
occasional headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, fatigue, confusion, depigmentation of hair, skin eruptions, corneal opacity, weight loss, and myalgias. Intense pruritus, a common complaint among black Africans taking the drug, usually is relieved with antihistamines.

very safe in malaria - but I havent heard that the most powerful man on earth had malaria
The latter, i believe.

He persuaded the doc
the doc then came out with his rather uncool memo to 'explain'
My indigestion tablets have all those side effects and more, pierre.

oh spicey ! guts ache! and does spicey eat spicey food?

your guts ache medicine wont kill you, unless you get a vat full dive in and suffocate .....[liquid stuff then drown]
chloroquine can ( and does )
and did in Brazil.... twice mortality but they were using large doses....
Every medicine lists dozens of side effects to stop scousers suing them.
Question Author
er hydroxychloroquine has some heart stopping side effects, peppermint water doesnt
OK thanks. Well, good luck to him. If he's so concerned about coronavirus's possible effect on him that he's taking an unlicensed prophylactic to ward it off, you've got to have some sympathy.
