Hancock scared to death to face Piers Morgan and his Questions. This is your so called health minister, who is now dictating to employers that they are responsible for providing PPE in the work place to ensure there safety, this is the guy, that for weeks has failed to protect his own staff on the front line with PPE, not only failed, but the eye protection goggles he did provide where 3/4 years out of date, but insisted that they had been re- tested, but when asked to provide details of the testing, (couldn't) so has now re-called all this PPE, and condemned it, why? he was telling more porkies.
Funny how now after weeks of saying that face masks don't help, that both him and Boris are now recommending them, and to make sure that the so called safety guide lines are followed by employers ( whatever they may be?) are now spending 15 million on employing government jobworths to do spot checks on safety in the work place. Who was spot checking Matt Hancock? Get ready for the next wave of deaths, big time. Oh and I was right about face masks. What happening here is, this government can't come up with a plan, so the next big wave of deaths will be blamed onto the employers shoulders.

‘ You can't come back on what I've said’

Erm, I think I did. If you’d like to point out the specific instance to which you refer, I will gladly reply but, please bear in mind, the Govt advice is on face coverings, not masks.

Sadly the next big wave of deaths will prove me right.
Zac I think you are referring to DeskDiary not DeskTop
Has the guidance to employers not been issued by the Department for Business, Energy
& Industrial Strategy?
You could be right, APG. A certain band of people all blend into one on here.
No TheCorbyloon- that's probably just more lies
per FF, it's the duty of the employer to ensure the safety of their staff in the most appropriate way. it's also important to note in the hierarchy of safety controls, PPE is the control of last resort, not the given response, and the appropriate control will be revealed by risk assessment.
//A certain band of people all blend into one on here.//

Aye they do, and they like to go about insulting people at every opportunity .
Sad really
The guidance issued yesterday by BEIS
says this about PPE,

"Workplaces should not encourage the precautionary use of extra PPE to protect against COVID 19
outside clinical settings or when responding to a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.

Unless you are in a situation where the risk of COVID-19
transmission is very high, your risk assessment should reflect the fact that the role of PPE in providing additional protection is extremely limited. However, if your risk assessment does show that PPE is required, then you must provide this PPE free of charge to workers who need it. Any PPE provided must fit properly"

Face masks don't help that much, which is why WHO didn't advise public use; and anything decent was needed more by the front line. That's not much changed, and why government weren't recommending their use previously. The decision to advise their use now, I suspect, has probably more to do with managing/raising public confidence in a slow progress lockdown relief strategy. The masks themselves aren't going to be any more effective than they were before.
Indeed, Steg. Then there’s the others who”s contributions are concisely snide, if somewhat hippocritical.
Yes, regardless of the science, those who believe coverings are effective can wear them and will feel safer in public places /on transport/in work if they see a fairly significant number of others wearing them. Those who don't believe they are much use will probably not wear them. So nothing lost and positive outcome overall
The Government is NOT recommending folk in England wear face masks, the recommendation is to wear face coverings.
OG, the advice is for face coverings, not medical quality masks. There’s a subtle difference.

11.45 Dead right its their only hobby 24/7 just wait all day long and night for someone to post, and do their best to trash it. such as argue face covering/ face masks , so so silly, anyone with any brain can see that the government have used that term to get out of providing the population with masks, unlike they have in other countries, in other words we will get them to use their scarfs. so funny but deadly.
Well, it’s nice to see you admit you were wrong in your OP.
