Hancock scared to death to face Piers Morgan and his Questions. This is your so called health minister, who is now dictating to employers that they are responsible for providing PPE in the work place to ensure there safety, this is the guy, that for weeks has failed to protect his own staff on the front line with PPE, not only failed, but the eye protection goggles he did provide where 3/4 years out of date, but insisted that they had been re- tested, but when asked to provide details of the testing, (couldn't) so has now re-called all this PPE, and condemned it, why? he was telling more porkies.
Funny how now after weeks of saying that face masks don't help, that both him and Boris are now recommending them, and to make sure that the so called safety guide lines are followed by employers ( whatever they may be?) are now spending 15 million on employing government jobworths to do spot checks on safety in the work place. Who was spot checking Matt Hancock? Get ready for the next wave of deaths, big time. Oh and I was right about face masks. What happening here is, this government can't come up with a plan, so the next big wave of deaths will be blamed onto the employers shoulders.

TC at 12.54, so you think that employers do not have any responsibility for the health and welfare of their employees?

13.12 you need to read the whole thread, but anyhow, not for a pandemic no.
Question Author
ff Well we will see over the next few weeks, death rates and infections, there already showing in China.
TC did you ‘really’ vote the Tory Government in?
TC
Taken from the health & safety regulations dated 1992.
\\ ensure that suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided free of charge "wherever there are risks to health and safety that cannot be adequately controlled in other ways." The PPE must be 'suitable' for the risk in question, and include protective face masks and goggles, safety helmets, gloves, air filters, ear defenders, overalls and protective footwear; and
provide information, training and instruction on the use of this equipment.//
Question Author
13.42 (Suitable for the risk in question) There doesn't seem to be any suitable PPE available to an employer to keep his/ her staff safe from covid 19. The only option is for staff to stay at home, for the employer not to become responsible. Unless government want to change such regulations.
TC //3.42 (Suitable for the risk in question) There doesn't seem to be any suitable PPE available to an employer//
Who said that, link?
Are staff in supermarkets wearing medical face masks? If no, is there data suggesting they are more prone to catching the virus?
TC The words "risks in question" covers everything that is detrimental to the workers health, there are no exceptions.
Question Author
13.55 130 plus NHS deaths.
TC, How is that answering my question?
Question Author
14.00 there is nothing suitable for staff to wear available for the risk of covid. so no employer can supply such if its not there. The only safe option open to the employer is not to have his staff in the work place, that way he has done what he can to protect his work force. If they are at home, he is not responsible for their welfare.
> There doesn't seem to be any suitable PPE available to an employer to keep his/ her staff safe from covid 19.

You don't need PPE just for Covid if there is social distancing in the workplace and if there are proper cleaning arrangements.
Question Author
14.03 surly you can work it out.
>130 plus NHS deaths.

Did you see the analysis yesterday that shows death rates among NHS workers are no higher than those of working age outside the NHS workforce? Obviously it would be better if both figures were 0 or lower but that was never going to happen
Question Author
No, but there should not have be any in the NHS, or very few, if they had the right protection in place, instead they were provided with out of date PPE, / old stock. Would you send army personal to war with duff equipment.
TC, you are making a lot of wild assumptions but I do not see any links to back up these assumptions.
