He opted to go it alone with his wife and rebrand themselves , the Queen has rightly so said they will not be allowed the word Royal in their venture

Ken, not so,I wish them well in their future endeavours but my point is you can’t be un -Royal but want to use the brand to further their lifestyle

I had an American friend whose first names were Royal and Thomas and like a lot of Americans wrote his name as Royal T M....... It amused him to refer to himself as Royalty. I'm wondering if Royal is used as a christian name can it be banned as part of a trade name?

Quite complex I suppose Vulcan , after all we have pubs called The Royal etc but I think in the couples case , perhaps HM felt the titles were being ‘exploited’ ?

Regardless of what has occurred, it seems perfectly reasonable to me that those not undertaking royal "duties" ought not be able to link their endeavours to being royal. Having the privilege to be born into the family seems an inadequate justification.

I think one knows when there is reasonable justification for using the word, for example it being a given surname, and it bring used simply to cash in on those wanting products or services connected to royalty. (That said, some powerful existing companies still bully smaller ones who legitimately have a reason to use a similar name.)

We have friends called Royle and they were waiting for a table in a US restaurant when the head waiter came to the foyer and called The Royle family from Engerland, you're table's ready. Caused quite a stir!

I'm just saying some people (Royal fans) will be eager for Charles to take the throne and wont' see why it should skip him. He's done his time and duty, he deserves to rein.
