I doubting nothing mamyalynne. As his personal life doesnt shock you. You appear to condone his actions.
Will you show disbelief after his umpteenth divorce/ seperation/ annulment?
I don't condone anyone's actions, they are theirs to deal with - I deal with my own.

I'm not a fan of his but not because of his private life.
Gulliver - care to explain why you think Carrie Symonds is Boris Johnson's "bit on the side".
Avatar Image TheDevil ""would you employ a plumber who was an excellent plumber but a serial divorcee?"

Comparing plumbing to activities associated with the governance of a country or area is futile.

Plumbing has no affect on other people. Being the Prime Minister does".

what a silly answer. Of course plumbing has an effect on other people....the bigger the pipework the more effect it has....and if they are a gas fitter or an electrician, their work deffo can have an effect on other people.

Boris is often described as being "socially liberal". He has many attitudes that, say, 60 years ago, would be frowned on, fidelity, drug use, etc. You could make similar comments about Jeremy Corbyn who (I think) has been married three times.
peter pedant //erm sorry under the age of 13 - consent is irrelevant//

She wasn't under the age of 13 & is now in her 60s, he has long ago apologised & she has forgiven him & she has constantly not wanted any action to be taken against him - that is her 'consent'.
None of this though has any bearing on his ability to make superb films.

Macmillan trying to give a moral lead whilst wife Dorothy was misbeahving and Profumo was in the cabinet

Currently France is in the midst of this - someone put Macrons heir on the internet whilst he was whispering little love secret without any clothes on - end of his career apparently

Why should anyone's private life affect their working life if they do a good job (which of course is subjective). Even in entertainment I don't believe what people have done that is either illegal or immoral should influence what people think of their career - Gary Glitter being a case in point. I still like his records but don't for one second condone what he was accused of.
Khandro, the girl was 13 at the time. Whether the sex was consensual or not is irrelevant (and also not relevant to this thread!)

Who cares?
I’m not interested in pious views of anyone let alone our PM, as long as he’s working for us , I’m happy, there’s a good saying in
People in glass houses....yada,yada, yada
as been pointed out Jeremy has been married three times, so does that make him any better or worse....
Khandro, that's utterly irrelevant, the crimes took place in Los Angeles.
"what a silly answer. Of course plumbing has an effect on other people."

You're missing the point and I can't believe i'm going to have to take the time to re-explain it.

The people don't vote for a plumber. The plumber doesn't represent the people. A plumber has no say in how people are organised, how laws are imposed, and how areas and people in that area need to live in accordance with. A plumber will come and unblock your toilet, not represent a nation whilst doing so. The plumber isn't voted for, he s there for one job and literally one job only. To plumb. The PM has his finger in many pies, his influence in many others and has a say almost everywhere.

I thought that was painfully obvious.
A plumbers opinions on people and how they live or on women has no affect when he's got his hands down a loo or in a pipe. When the PM is talking and voting about laws and rights that will affect people, women, blacks, whites etc.. etc.. Then his opinions on such people are way more important that say.. a plumbers.

Do you understand?
thedevil...you are moving away from my question which is about the quality of the job the person does.
