Thanks, sevenOP. I'm disappointed that OG continues to insist that the matter is settled, that sex and gender are synonyms when they never have been in history, and that there are no lessons to be learned from the tolerance and acceptance of societies across the world and across history.

I'm not expecting agreement, but it would have been nice to see at least some willingness to consider that maybe the human wxperience is wider than OG imagines it to be. Still, this is again the purpose of discussion over exclusion.
I doubt it can be wider than I "imagine" it to be. What goes on in the minds of others is no doubt very variable and wide ranging. But claiming a misinterpretation is correct can still result when one desperately wants a situation to be seen in a certain way rather than how it actually is. This is simply yet another "emperor's new clothes" scenario being pushed on the rest.

Oh and no, maybe the "industry" jargon created and tried to use "gender" as having a different meaning to "sex", but language depends on common usage and trying to make the two non-synonyms to the whole of the population is fairly recent, seemingly connected with the concerted effort to push the nonsense idea about folk being able to change sex.
