/// London Mayor Sadiq Khan has reignited his long-running feud with President Donald Trump and mocked him for playing golf as Hurricane Dorian moves dangerously close to the United States. ///

Does this idiot expect Trump to sit in a Canute fashion at the waters edge, demanding Hurricane Dorian to go away from the United States?

Perhaps this so called 'Mayor of London' should be addressing the huge numbers of murders taking place in his own city.

Your 10% improvement is rapidly declining I am afraid.
Whilst the mayor is away criticising POTUS for not leaving his hurricane stricker territory back at home in London a triple yesterday and I believe a triple at the Elephant and Castle the day before.

Mr Khan really needs to get his own house in order first instead of his jollys.
Your link says ninety-two murders. As there were 102 in the same period last year, the reduction is 9.8%.
The body count triples almost by the day in London alone.
This comment from Andy says a lot.

//It's not dignified for two politicians to snipe at each other via social media, both of them should exhibit the gravitas of their appropriate offices and act their respective ages.//

Then you proceed to read all the answers on this thread and discover that 'sniping on social media' is one of the largest hobbies of (mostly) men at the moment.

Just an observation.

Lol
Forgotten the Thank you post from yesterday already? That was mostly women. :-)

Gulliver, from the Site Rules:-

15.13, Practice what you preach. OK.
Naomi, re Trump golf statistics:

// That’s quite pathetic actually. Don’t you ever wonder who’s keeping tally and publishing this information – and why? //

Why? Because he's the President, US citizens have a right to know what he spends his time doing, and in any case the total cost of Trump's golfing to the US taxpayer is estimated at over $100 million. I assume that's from increased security costs when he's out on the course.
But in any case, yet again the premise of criticising people for collecting this information, rather than the person who should be held most accountable, namely the President, confuses me. And, just to be clear, data on golf-playing US Presidents is also available for Obama, Bush Jr, and presidents going all the way back to the 1920s, so this is nothing to do with Trump in particular. The chief reason it gets so noticed is because he was so vocal about Obama's excessive golfing, and because he was equally vocal about he was never going to do that sort of thing when President. So he lied about it, and he's a hypocrite for criticising Obama about it.
In reply to Retrocop, fair comment - remove the reference to 'men'.

Re yesterday's thread, I replied at the beginning then left it - that was all I needed to say.
I've got no problem with Trump playing golf three or four times a week. Anything that keeps him away from Twitter (or, y'know, the nuclear codes) is a bit of a bonus.
Odd, Jim, you never ranting about Obama’s golfing habits especially if, as you say, his golfing was excessive. Can’t think why. Oh, hang on, yes I can. Because his name wasn’t Trump.
...// territory back at home in London a triple yesterday and I believe a triple at the Elephant and Castle the day before. ///

oh yes !

and a further massacre in the House of Commons at 10 oclock tonight !
24 down(*)

(*) no that isnt a crossword clue
Alternative theory: I wasn't paying any attention to it at the time.

Stop reading anti-Trump conspiracy into everything. It's a bit late, but I'm criticising Obama's golfing habits *now*; had I paid more attention at the time, I'd have frowned on it then, too. In the meantime, you're still dodging the point: Trump criticised Obama vociferously for it, and yet has turned out to spend twice as much time doing something he said he wouldn't spend any time doing at all.
Hypocrites abound.
// Can’t think why. Oh, hang on, yes I can. Because his name wasn’t Trump.//

come on Ni - stop playing with Jims balls - that would be golf balls of course!
and get back to the matter in hand - the blood on the floor of the House of Commons !

you are strangely (*) silent on that one

(*) unnaturally - spookily - suspensefully ...
There's demonstrably a hypocrite in the White House. Is that not at least something of concern?

I'm pressed to ask the same question I asked you almost two years ago, Naomi: whom do you hold to higher standards of behaviour and comportment: me or the President of the US?
:o)
// nd discover that 'sniping on social media' is one of the largest hobbies of (mostly) men//

that botching is a man's activity ?
yes that really is quite a remarkable discovery !
( and I would say: and counter to my own experience - but hey what does that matter - I lead a sheltered life )
