I certainly recognise that speech. It sounds very similar to a highly praised speech attributed to Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. This speech was denied and snopes said it was a HOAX. It went viral. It is strange no one turned a hair when it was circulated but then it wasn't attributed to POTUS was it? //: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT....

OG //There are better ways to argue that your opponents are wrong.//

Donald is Donald and he has his own brand of methods and style.

If the US voters don't like it they could always not vote for him next time!

That's an issue. We all have to wait until next time. Think of all those undemocratic remoaners we have that could be replaced to make a democratic Westminster has we the ability to say, you, you, you,.... are all out. Don't reapply.
Is the world going to safer wit Boris ( potentially ) at this side of the pond and Trump at the other?
Like him or loathe him,he's not afraid to speak his mind , maybe that comes with wealth and the fact that he can in a free society? Is he a racist? no ,I don't think he is,as Naomi says, his words were "if you don't like it here,go back to where you came from, then if you do like it here, come back, colour or ethnicity was never mentioned ,the racist word is bandied around far too much now
It's clutching at straws to suggest that Trump's comment that they can "go back to their own country" was somehow one option in a series of reasonable suggestions. "If you don't like it, you can always leave" is the rallying cry for bigotry and racism.

//"If you don't like it, you can always leave" is the rallying cry for bigotry and racism. //

Handy words as usual. Trump is blunt. That's the way he is - and on this occasion he's right to be blunt.
Yes
The only people mentioning race are the women and TROB. The race card is all to often played these days.
Trump was absolutely correct when he said they came from a crime-ridden homeland with disastrous government. It was big of him to accept responsibility, and to recognise that their election to Congress is the first step towards putting it right.
Rock on, Donald!

That might well may be, but even so they never release themselves from their ancestral roots, and as such constantly criticise the country that their parents chose to settle in.

//: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society. Learn the language!' ...

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.' 'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'//
In that case Trump should go back to where he came from!
Rockrose, Trump is not complaining about the USA.

/// Trump wouldn't have said they can go back to where they came from if they were white, though. ///

Their skin colour doesn't come into it, they or their parents came from another country and just happen to be non white.

I think a similar suggestion would have been made if they happened to be white and also American.

"If you are not happy living here you can always leave".

If you live with your parents Spath, don't you think they would say the same?
"Their skin colour doesn't come into it, they or their parents came from another country and just happen to be non white. "

Telling someone of colour to go back to their own country is racist in itself.. Let alone when their own country is the one they are in and complaining about.

And no. As someone who lives somewhere i have a right to complain or express my opinion over my environment. I pay rent. I'm sure those ladies pay USA taxes.
Anybody is free to leave a country they are unhappy in...indigenous or not ! He was not racist to say so..perhaps their spiritual home is elsewhere and they would be happier wherever that may be
Anyone who comes into a country to live should still have the right to challenge the way that country is run, as any other citizen born there would. If you have the right to vote then you have the right to challenge the present government, whatever your colour, creed or country of origin.
spath, //Telling someone of colour to go back to their own country is racist in itself..//

No it isn't. These people just happen to have brown skin. Had the complainers been Poles or Chinese the same would apply. If you're not happy in the US, go and live somewhere that makes you happier. Fair enough.
It's not the act of telling someone to leave the country though.. It's the "go back to your own country" that is the issue and which carries the racial implications.

3 of these women were born and bread in the USA.
