He probably got the story from the doctor.
danny, //He probably got the story from the doctor. //

I doubt that very much. The article carries a quote from a spokesman from the Ramadhan Foundation - not an organisation the doctor would have been likely to contact. These people are trouble-makers.
I work very personally with people every day. I have never worked with someone wearing a veil, as they are not appropriate and not allowed in residential/ nursing homes that I have been in.
If I had a homecare client with one, I would deal with it, obviously. But if I genuinely couldn't communicate properly with her because of it, I would ask her to remove it. If she wouldn't and it was going to affect the care I could give, I would, tactfully, explain why and that she would need to ask somebody else.
A Muslim woman wouldn't object to removing a veil if asked by a woman and if there were no men present.
She should have asked for a female doctor. Everyone has the right to that.
Should of been directed to BUPA. Some people do not deserve the NHS or indeed this country that tolerates their superstitions.
Pixie, if the doctor is telling the truth she removed the veil voluntarily.
Yes, Danny. But now there seems to be a problem with that x
//She should have asked for a female doctor. //

Why? She wasn't the patient.

//Everyone has the right to that. //

Apparently not. According to the article //A 2009 NHS guide said same-sex consultations cannot always be provided.//

Time we stopped pussyfooting around foibles.
I'd sooner believe the doctor. She didn't make any objection.
The trouble started when her jealous/money-grubbing/trouble making husband arrived on the scene.
You an always ask for a female doctor... (I don't know about males)... but of course, it will also depend on who is available. She should have asked, if that was what she needed, she doesn't need to be the patient
Yes, it does appear everything was fine at the time... and a "problem" appeared afterwards. Irrelevant by then.
She should have had the courtesy to show her face and speak to the doctor properly. We have to stop excusing this.
She should, and willingly did. Objecting afterwards seems pointless. Clearly, it was not against her will.
//Objecting afterwards seems pointless. //

Not if your intention is to cause trouble.
We hear enough about immigration swamping our infrastructure and crippling the NHS and other services. Small wonder resentment is shown to these people.
If they are non compliant and refuse to aquiesce to a GP’s request then there are plenty who will be happy to take this appointment that has now been
wasted. The GP should of said,”My hospital and my rules. Either your child is treated on my terms or you may stop wasting my valuable consulting time”
My religion comes second place to my child's health. These types do not do themselves any favours imo.
disgusting treating him like this ,if they don't like taking the veil off move to a country that excepts it .i wouldn't like to be treated by a doctor with a veil on .
They only make these ridiculous complaints because they know the public sector is infested with Common Purpose dhimmis who encourage their nonsense.
You don't have to look too far to know that's true.
The problem is... they are not complaining about discrimination, they are requesting it. And there is no medical or valid reason to do that.
Haven't followed this thread, but surely a doctor needs to see the face of the patient he/she is diagnosing. One can learn a lot from observing facial expressions. (Sqad, are you there?)
When my doctor asks how much I drink he can tell by my face I am lying. :0)
