/// They are being represented by Tasnime Akunjee, the same lawyer who supported Jihadi bride Shamima Begum's family after she left her east London home to join ISIS in Syria. ///

I wonder if the boy's family are funding this court case or is it being left up to the good old British taxpayer once again?

/// Interesting timing, isn't it? ///

Yes isn't it, just like the date fixed for his re-trial on contempt of court charges.

Which just happens to be the same day that Tommy Robinson hopefully would take his seat in the European Parliament.
// Slander is defined as oral defamation, not the written or typed word.//

o great then does that mean that Tarmy is NOT being sued?

And here it is in his own words.

tarmy is busy with the courts
doesnt he have a date to go down for contempt ?

once a fraud always a fraud - that's what I say
no to rehabilitation !
here it is in his own words
what?
blam ! and kapow ! or does he leave that to his little frenz?
The rights and wrongs of this case aside, I don't think there's any doubt that he's targeted at every opportunity.
Is it libel if you believe it to be true? EG, The Guardian would be in big trouble re Trump/Russia collusion if it is.
'I don't think there's any doubt that he's targeted at every opportunity'

I agree. But I also have no doubt that he deserves to be.
// Is it libel if you believe it to be true?//
um yeah had to think about that one
yes - - - being mistaken is not a defence

All the people calling David Irving a holocaust denier, believed it to be true - but clearly he didnt
( held - he lost, the judge said he was a holocause denier)

One case 1915 the defendant ( alleged libeller ) was asked why he had written a autobiography of a person who was still alive, said
because I am a bloody fool !
Jury let him off
( sorry musing off track - - but the sixth Brexit thread of the day is a bit samey innit?)
Zacs, no one deserves to be targeted unfairly.
erm yes no
I think Tarmy ( bless!) is targeted as he is a known convict and has been convicted of making false statements with a view to financial gain ( fraud )

so the question obviously arises - is he at it again ?
// Zacs, no one deserves to be targeted unfairly.//
so what?
Tarmy deserves it
he is a lag for chrissakes ! ( = served a prison sentence)
Old lag lies again
its not even news let alone a surprise
It isn't unfair in my opinion, N. He gets everything her deserves. He'sa right wing thug whether he denies he is or not. Anyone who fails to see through to the foundations of his ideology is deluded or brainwashed (or both).
//I wonder if the boy's family are funding this court case or is it being left up to the good old British taxpayer once again?//

You can't get Legal aid for slander or libel cases AOG, so they're funding it themselves therefore all we have to do is sit back and wait until the case is actually heard.
Zacs, as you say that is your opinion.
erm...yeah....that's why i wrote it.
Calicogirl, they may not be funding it themselves....
Zacs, doesn’t mean it’s right though. Personally I don’t see how targeting anyone unfairly can ever be justified – but you seem to manage to convince yourself that it’s acceptable.
It's justified because of his political ideology combined with his criminal past and recent actions.
