Ah!! the joys of multiculturalism.

If they don't like the way we go about things, they know what they can do.

A polite 'thank you for your comments and interest' then no more debate seems like a fair way to go.

TTT
I find it ironic that the government launched Trojan Horse inspectors to clamp down on Muslim faith schools in order to stamp out the more obnoxious and pernicious teachings of Islam i.e. literature on how to chastise and beat your wife etc. They get the kids out of those schools only to ram a subject alien to their culture into the kids. Not really a smart idea to gain cohesion and integration between the communities especially as the Midlands appears to be almost a Muslim majority.
These kids will be taken from these schools and will go back to underground Muslim faith schools again.
In my school days all the jewish kids were seperated at assembly and placed in an adjoining 'rotunda' with adjoining doors to the main assembly room. That way they were segregated from the holy bit yet could be kept an eye on and were able to hear other school announcements. Not difficult.
We, Catholics, were kept in the smoking room (aka, bogs) during the prod bits of school assembly.
Sorry for the diversion.
Retro, we had one Jewish boy in the class and when the lesson was RI he left the classroom and returned for the next lesson. As you , not difficult.
Strange that there hasn't been any counter demonstrations by gay activists on this matter. Or is it?
I support the Muslim community in their action against the teaching of homophobic activities in the school.
I would object to this being taught to my kids, then and now, as i would prefer that they make their own minds up as they got older.
i feel the same way about religious studies.
I'm with the complainers on this one. Just let the kids grow up.

What is happening here is a clash of two sets of people both with opposing agenda's.

Be interesting to know which side the Metropolitan elite take, must be a righ conundrum for them
There was a brief but brilliant piece on last night's BBC Newsnight on this - a very calm and wise Imam spoke plainly and sensibly about how important it is for all children to know their world is full of different people.

That is really all this is about.
mamy...well that his HIS opinion, which I respect but do not accept.
I am not the only one who would object to my children being taught about homosexuality and the family and clearly the parents of the two Muslim schools wouldn't agree with the Imam.
I too would object to a primary school child being taught it. It is not necessary and is just another Agenda of the liberal elite.
// We, Catholics, were kept in the smoking room (aka, bogs) //
oh at uni ( proddy of course) we were mixed and well you know Prot high church theology is just like RC stuff only without the Pope ....
seven scaraments, consubstantiation instead of transubstantiation - I mean I met someone who knew the difference once.
You're right, many won't agree with him and I feel that's a shame.
// who would object to my children being taught about homosexuality//
for chrissakes sqad - - there are people who are child molesters - child - geddit?
and 12 y r getting pregnant
perhaps not in your generation .... but now

er yeah how about - and in Rotherham muslim parents objecting to sex education - chanted 'up Sqad!' he is the man for us and understands us !
//chanted 'up Sqad!' he is the man for us and understands us !//

Good for Sqad. Would they be able to understand you?
PP....unless i have missed your point, are you suggesting that the teaching of homosexuality in schools would deal with the increasing problem of child abuse in the home and the grooming of children?
I doubt that it would.
you are correct "in my day" homosexuality wasn't taught in schools and as far as we kids were considered it didn't happen....at least until we were in our mid teens and then only in the toilets of the Public schools.
It is now everyday conversation...that is progress....but that doesn't mean that all parents want it taught in schools.

Anal intercourse is more popular than one would like to admit, but i would not want it taught in schools.
What has child molesters and getting pregnant to do with being taught about homosexuality?
Lynne //how important it is for all children to know their world is full of different people//
Did he give any indication of at what age he thought children should the taught this?
Danny, it was a very brief interview and I'm sure he has read about the 'No Outsiders' programme in more depth than I have, which will have details.

I rarely get involved with these threads because it appears that some see this as teaching children about something in order to turn them into something they are not - it is about knowledge, tolerance and to prevent bullying.

It is not a training manual on how to become gay.

I shall now remove myself.
There's no sex education or indoctrination going on here.

They're just using story books that reflect the reality of life in Britain 2019, ie that not all families are composed of a white heterosexual man, married to a white heterosexual woman with two white non adopted children called Dick and Jane.
