Little did I know our gutless treacherous politicians would simply ignore the result. treason May prefers to deal with the terrorists friend agent COB to thwart democracy than her own cabinet. remoaners, enjoy your vassalage, you've earn't it.

//only around 5% of messages were ever deciphered//

And an even lesser percentage had Turing been asked to interpret ...

Oh, you work it out.

Doesn't "In the name of God go!" make the point better, Retro?

Many happy returns eh?
Hah, just another guy all dressed-up. Guess what, retro, you are now on some alphabet soup's watch-list!
Guy's solution would have been more permanent should it have succeeded. Ollie's not so.

Ignore VE as usual

the list of interpreters turns out pretty impressive
Asa briggs (sx) - Roy Jenkins - calcocoressi
Nothing undemocratic as such about the first referendum retro, just that given the sheer level of deception and criminal activity surrounding the first one (like the Leave Campaign being half a million quid over it's £7m cap) I think a second one would be reasonable. However I am frequently told that ' the people 'ave spoken', 'we voted leave. End of!' etc etc etc and that there should be no second chances because that's undemocratic, by the very same people who had no issue with the Prime minister trying to push her virtually unchanged deal through parliament several times. Just seems a bit, what's the word, hypocritical.
// Ignore VE as usual// oh ! - - - oh another one allergic to ancient forrin....
ho hum, but this is late night AB !
Seems sour grapes all round for the remainers. Those youngsters who couldn't get their lazy asses out of bed cry foul when they lost the vote. They claim it is wrong for the old dinosaurs to vote leave.
The fact is the old dinosaurs were alive before they were conned into the Common Market by Grocer Heath. We dinosaurs all recall how much better off this country was when we stood alone and the rest of Europe relied on our bailouts.
I have experienced my country before we got mixed up with this bunch of corrupt shysters and have seen it's downfall and division since. Can you honestly say you have experience of before or after we got tangled up with what is more than a state that sucks money from their vassals
For God's sake.... will somebody go on to tell me what the feck TJM means. I'm off to bye byes now and won't sleep.

Best not mention the £9 plus million spent solely on the government leaflet that went to every home in the country and actively promoted 'Remain'. That was before the campaigns were in full swing - or so I'm told - so it doesn't count. Who'd a guessed?
Naomi
Quite so. Lol
Retro, no you know I wasn't alive pre the UK joining, so no I have no first hand experience of what you speak of, however that world as it was no longer exists, and it's folly in the extreme to assume we leave and we go back to some perceived 1960's greatness, because the rest of the world is not like that anymore even if WE could, so it's not a possibility. It's not about people being dinosaurs or too young and lazy to vote, it's about clear sight about what is and isn't possible and acting in the best interests of the country as a whole.
Neither side covered themselves with glory in the Referendum, all were sly and duplicitous and the electorate was ill prepared to understand what was required of it, and it's no use saying stay or go, or anything as simplistic as that, this is too important.
I can see why you are all so aggrieved, I would be too if it was reversed, but we have to at least call a temporary halt to this before it tears the country any further apart than it already has.
Good grief!
Good grief indeed.
The Jelly Man?
well cal old girl
I was
so I will speak for you

//We dinosaurs all recall how much better off this country was when we stood alone and the rest of Europe relied on our bailouts. //

bollouzx! complete boullooze! why doesnt someone stop him fro saying this? we werent better off - Harold Wilson had misgmanaged the economy that by 1967 we devalued by 15%
Callaghan was chancellor and said - well the pound in your pocket hasnt been devalued
and 25m voices in the country were raised in protest

balance of payments
three day week

better off is just Not True. not even near

Heath told his negotiators to get in to the Common Market at whatever cost and they did - far too expensively
and THAT was what led to the Thatcher snatch back

jesus talk about rewriting history.....
Calicogirl, Indeed! What a load of patronising, supercilious, duplicitous rubbish!
