The amendment to the vote I mentioned yesterday has unexpectedly passed!

It’s not legally binding but it does mean that parliament has said “no deal is not an option - ever”

I’m fairly sure that if there was a deal done then they’d be willing to extend tho it’s also not clear why all that extra time would be needed anyway.
As for the backstop, if by some miracle the deal was Mrs May’s then it would mean the backstop had been accepted grudgingly.
Other options would not need a backstop: they’d likely be cross party options such as Norway Plus Canada Minus etc etc :-)
Yes I agree it sounds v far fetched.
What’s May 21?
My and Mrs Zacs wedding anniversary;-)

Ah.
Congratulations in advance :-)

Gives the UK time to pass, and scrutinise, the necessary legislation that goes alongside the Withdrawal Agreement. This includes, for example, bills on Trade, Fisheries, and other matters. The government also suffered a defeat in the Lords on the Trade Bill tonight, although that rather slipped under the radar given what was going on in the Commons.

Strictly speaking, at least half a dozen ministers, and probably far more, should have resigned tonight. As it is, so far only one has done so.
More possible defecting to TIG?
Thanks, Ich.

Commiserations Mrs Zacs…….(^_*)
Couldn't resist Zacs. :))
I'm sure Mrs Zacs will agree with you that he's basically irresistible :)
I am. LOL.
/// Yet Another Defeat For The Government ///

That should read "Yet another defeat for over half of the voters in the referendum".

How much longer is this fiasco to go on?

Corbyn has said "he will now meet with MPs from across the House of Commons to “find a compromise solution”. ///

He should have announced this from the beginning, instead of playing party politics.
I predict some MP's will be loosing their seats. Next election could be quite amusing.
"he will now meet with MPs from across the House of Commons to “find a compromise solution”

There is no solution. All that it could ever be was stay in as we were or leave (no deal) the EU were never going to budge, why should they?

Basically Democracy is dead in this country with the quislings we have in parliament currently. We need a Trump to drain the swamp.
Looks like we will still be EU Citizens then, at 11.01pm on March 29th.
Oh Dear.
Not unless the government does something to achieve that.
But May has well & truly lost it, trying to get her same deal through a third time.
PS there's no such thing as an EU citizen because, despite their fantasy, the EU isn't a nation.
PS ,Don 't know about you , but I am a EU Citizen.
OG //But May has well & truly lost it, trying to get her same deal through a third time.//
This is the only deal the EU will accept. They will not negotiate any more.
Exactly the point. So May's deal never significantly changes. What was that about insanity defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different
result ? Time for a parliament recess, methinks.
