I almost thought that she might have deserved an even longer sentence, especially given her responsibilities as an MP.

Still, any jail time is, I hope, enough to prompt her to reconsider her obvious arrogance.
I don't understand how her brother got 10 months and she only go 3. She was the one speeding, texting, and perverting the course of justice; he, I believe, was just charged with perverting the course of justice.
As a lawyer and an MP she should have got more.
Quite rightly jailed IMO
I agree, Ladybirder, but I'm delighted she didn't get away with it.
Act (or drive and lie about it) in haste, repent at leisure.
not a dry eye in the house! Sadly she can still stay as an MP.
Good.

Her arrogance was her downfall.

Like others I'm surprised she didn't receive a longer jail term. As an MP she has a hand in shaping our laws, and therefore to arrogantly flout them as she did deserves a jail term that sets an example.
"especially given her responsibilities as an MP. "

Doesn't stop them doing other despicable things.
MPs have done much worse than lied about the speed they were going.
Or if they were driving ^
Oh I'd have been hopping if she'd have got away with it Naomi.
It's just amazing that she was so arrogant as to risk losing so much for 3 points and small fine, madness.
That's not even the most arrogant part of the entire affair. Have you seen some of the stuff she has come out with recently, eg comparing her persecution to that Jesus received?
In her arrogance she thinks the law shouldn't apply to her and hers is how I see it.

Most of all her reputation!!

Me too, Ladybirder.
jim 15:58, can we not arrange a crucifixion?
I wouldn't quite go that far, but certainly I hope that she considers her position as an MP in the light of this.
Would you put a bet on that Jim?
Great result. Talk about abuse of position. She couldn't afford Basildon Bond so wrote to his Lordship on HoC headed paper to try to influence his judgement on son's misdemeanors. Both wrong un's and they now realise is not the corrupt system the likes of them would probably hope for.
