Togo, I have no idea what they might do.
Have you bothered to read anything about the other accusers, danny?
Talbot, no I haven't. I only know that there are several accusations against the judge.I prefer to keep an open mind until there is proof rather than assumptions made by some posters.
Indeed Danny. I have my doubts about the accusers but this not just the appointment of your local storekeeper. One side is as blinkered as the other
Trying to be smart Togo? Believe you me it doesn’t sit well with you :-)
Very odd to put up a link that seems anti-Kavanaugh in its nature and yet you say you have an open mind.

'' assumptions made by some posters.''

Do you mean assumptions made by both sides?
ichkeria

There's no evidence, ich...yet you seem to believe that is enough to stop him from getting elected.
Is it right that he was voted in whilst there was ANY doubt?
The reason I don’t like the thought of Kavanaugh has nothing to do with evidence or lack of. The whole story bores me to be honest. It just shows how toxic US politics has become.
//Is it right that he was voted in whilst there was ANY doubt//

There you go. That is the answer. When you don't like the candidate...……...introduce some "doubt". Doesn't matter how tenuous or unlikely, as long as you can persuade some to "like" the doubt, job done. Meehh.
Oohhh touched a nerve with ichy koo there. Not a fan of the Magyars then. :))
Shouldn’t someone in his position be above all reproach?
Making a spurious claim would become the norm to stop anyone getting elected.

I'm not for or against Kavanaugh but I would never think it right to ruin a person's life on what are at best flimsy unsubstantiated claims.
Flimsy but not disproven. Surely if they were false claims they’d be easy to refute?
If any of them are that concerned about Kavanaugh and are speaking the truth, they should back it up all the way now it's out in the open.

Let’s see. Only time will tell.
Talbot//Do you mean assumptions made by both sides?//
Yes
Still perplexed as to how/why during many lengthy processes prior to this where he has been scrutinised by the FBI on more than one occasion(relating to previous appointments in the US judicial system) that none of these accusations/allegations have never been made nor heard of before.

Decidedly odd.
It's not *terribly* odd -- the FBI investigations into Kavanaugh previously are unlikely to have dug into his life as far back as the early 1980s.

This doesn't mean that the FBI missed something before, but it's not possible to draw any conclusions from that alone.

Whatever the truth of the matter, it was clear from the outset that most Republicans would have voted for Kavanaugh anyway, and most Democrats against him. When politics gets mixed into what should have been a search for the truth nobody comes out of it looking good.

I might have hoped that Kavanaugh's display at the Ford hearing would have put at least one Republican senator off, but clearly not. Looks to me like Jeff Flake wanted the excuse of one further token investigation to hide his "yes" vote behind. Now the Supreme Court in the US is going to swing so sharply to the right for years if not decades to come, and it will be interesting (understatement) to see what the effects of that will be.
It is easy to work out Jim. It will be the opposite to how our upper house has been conducted for decades after being loaded with left wing servants by successive Lay Boor governments for years. Perhaps the American version will now be more supportive of their very own constitution than ours is for the Magna Carta.
