No matter what Mr RR is watching on the box, he has to have the sound blaring. Now, I know he's not deaf, but why do men have to have the sound turned up so loud. Or, is it just him?

He wants a sound bar for the telly.........not on my watch, he ain't.

Sorry, what?

Selective hearing.

Only selectively, rocky ;-)
Yep the house shakes when himself is playing music or watching TV x

Maybe it's so he can't hear you. (^_*)
When "She who must be obeyed" is out......the neighbours call round and ask me to turn the music down. :))
Yes men are deaf. Especially as they seem to want to listen to MTV full volume with the subwoofer on. They can't hear you asking them to 'set the table' or 'put out the trash' . We have now got a sound bar. Upstairs the floor vibrates when its on. But I'm asked to turn down the telly when masterchef is on as its 'irritating'. Bless them all.
Is it possibly to drown out the other half's noise?

It's not just him then. He puts the telly on in the bedroom to watch Sky Sports News (which drives me mad, but that's another story), and I have to turn the downstairs telly, up.

I'm sitting here quiet as a church mouse with my headphones on.

He's just nipped to the loo, and I've turned the sound down, we'll see if he notices.

He's not twigged, yet!

I couldn't handle that, I'd be doing a 10-15 stretch.
Mines on full belt so I don't have to listen to her indoors :-)
To be fair, my husband's hearing is not very good but it's his own fault, listening to blaring music. Even when he got his earphones on, you can still hear music blasting out! He's always been the same.
The present Mrs Hughes is currently watching Stoke City on her computer linked to the TV downstairs.

The competition for volume varies between the TV - seriously loud, and Mrs Hughes shouting at the referee and underperforming players - massively loud!
All you guys out there listen up......If the misses is always moaning about the telly being...too loud, the music...….too loud, the car radio/cd....too loud, You.....too loud. Take my advice and wait until you have something to say that you know they want to hear...…..then whisper and hear them say I can't hear you. ;))
No. The issue is that all women can hear a sound from 2000 yards. (Except when it's not in their interest.)
How utterly antisocial. Poor bloody neighbours! TV speakers have a notoriously penetrating sound.

To help stop our neighbours listening to our telly, we have two speakers near our armchairs so that no sound comes from the TV (by the window), and only controlled sound comes from the speakers.

And I am hard of hearing, but this set-up means we can keep the sound DOWN.

Haha^^ There are of course those who can hear everything, but understand nothing.
