Sp, you only have to look at mainstream media to see which way the wind is expected to blow. Did someone mention the BBC?

/// And surely there’s an opposite number who are against diversity, whether it be multiculturalism or any other form? ///

/// Would you say that’s true? ///

No because diversity is not shown multicultural, but just about black persons.

They are shown by the multi race couples in adverts, all the various black associations, the inclusion in films, TV soaps and TV and film awards etc. etc, hardly ever see a Chinese person included.

//hardly ever see a Chinese person included.//

So I assume you’ve never heard of, nor seen Margaret Cho or Maggie Q?

Nor have you tuned into the marvellous Kingdom in Netflix (just been commissioned for a second series).

I assume you haven’t seen any of the excellent work by Kris Wu or Andy Lau and I have to suppose you missed th biggest film of 2017 (cough cough Kelly Marie Tran).

You really shouldn’t have chosen Chinese here, because the one huge trend in western media right now, is to include Chinese actors - because China is a big new market.

Just because you’ve not seen the content, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

You might want to wean yourself off ITV?

Anyone else seen this massive Chinese horde sp is going on about?

By the way sp, your remark about weaning myself off ITV, BBC are the masters of diversity, black style.

You posited:

//No because diversity is not shown multicultural, but just about black persons.

They are shown by the multi race couples in adverts//

That’s true, but could that be because by far, the largest mixed race couples are black/white?

As a thought exercise - think about the number of celebrity biracial people who have a black parent and a white one.

Now, do the same with famous people who have a white parent and a Chinese parent.

Apart from Mylene Klass, can you think of any?

...and Ms Klass barely qualifies as ‘a celebrity’.
AOG

The people I’ve named are really famous.

But I suspect it may be that they appear in shows and films that do not appeal the you.

You may not have heard of Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Daniel Kaluuya, John Gordon Levitt, and Shawn Mendez, but that doesn’t mean they’re not extremely famous, with the majority of people under 50 knowing who at least a couple of them are.

// Because the buck stops with the boss - just as it does with Mrs May and Mr Trump .//

if only it did ( stop with the boss ) - in both cases I see a lot of shot and wounded cabinet ministers and no dead Presidents or prime ministers.

"Perhaps the buck almost stops with the boss" would be nearer the mark.
or perhaps I have mis-written and it doesnt ....
Yes, definitely double standards. I thought the one of Khan was fabulous !
Don't know about 'double standards 'but the artist probably was suffering from 'double vision'. They should have been painted over ages ago. Faint resemblance to Khan but T.May,don't make me laugh!
Peter Pedant, if you're going to continue to select my posts to comment on you really should try to get the hang of context. Heaven forbid the reader should be in danger of misunderstanding your deliberations. ;o)
This is both May and Khan being mocked and is surely nothing to do with the ‘blimp’ if that is what you are on about as it’s two different authorities involved.
So it might be a shame but not double standards.
