Would help if there were witnesses, most odd.

I am interested in the motive and whose idea it was ... but whether the police are interested is another story.
Happens a lot.
.. //Happens a lot.//

so much so that in no-go towns, now B+Q has set up aisles
Hijab Shears - various

eleven is a bit young to be sexualising a child
Peter - some threads are appropriate to make jokes about - some are not.

Guess which category this one falls into?
^ Have to agree with Andy . PP in this case your jocular remarks are way out of line.

Let's hope the situation doesn't deteriorate: forced deportations from their ancestral homelands in Savile Town and Tower Hamlets; a Trail of Shears.
15th January (CBC News): CBC News is not naming the 11-year-old out of a concern for her interests. But…

13th January (ABC News): Khawlah Noman was walking to her Toronto school when a man suddenly appeared behind her and cut her hijab, police said.

"These allegations were extremely serious and not surprisingly, they received national and international attention," police spokesperson Mark Pugash said in an interview.

"Investigators worked extremely hard since the allegations on Friday. They gathered evidence from a variety of sources," before concluding the story was untrue, Pugash said, adding that the girl who reported the incident will not face any legal consequences.

I don't know what the age of criminal responsibility is in Canada, but if it's 11 or under Miss Noman (sorry, Miss X) should be prosecuted.

Looks like the hijab shears are in the same aisle as those for shearing wolves in sheep's clothing.

Or something.
Looks like trying to garner support from the liberal left.

I agree with NJ, the child should be prosecuted.

Andy, when it looks like it is a hoax what is wrong with a jocular answer?
//Amira Elghawaby, a human rights advocate based in Ottawa, said she was saddened to learn that the girl's story was not true,//

Not "glad" that it was untrue note. She therefore would have been happier if the girl had been attacked.

//"My heart goes out to Khawlah Noman following this morning's cowardly attack on her in Toronto," Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Friday on Twitter.//

Patiently waiting for Tudeau to be trashed, for fake news on twitter.

You will wait a long while Togo. Trudeau is a darling of the liberal left Establishment.
Girls of that age tend to have fantasies, and making an 11 year old cover herself in this manner would only increase these. I find it sad, if not cruel, the way Muslim parents make such young girls feel so vulnerable, she is still only an 11 year old child.
yes the real abuse here is that the saucepan has to wear that ridiculous garb in the first place
YMB - // Andy, when it looks like it is a hoax what is wrong with a jocular answer? //

Because it may turn out to be true.
How's that, Andy?
Spiecerack - If someone had told me via the mass of interpersonal communciations we have now, that people had flown planes into the Twin Towers, which had then collapsed, I would have thought that so outrageous a notion that it could not possibly be true, and that it has to be a tasteless hoax.

I am not someone who jokes about such things, whether I believe them to be true or not - but imagine if I had sent a jokey message back laughing at the nonsense of it al - how would I feel when I read or heard the news?

As a default, it's better to assume that something is true, even though it seems unlikely, rather than exercising a sledgehammer sense of wit, and looking like a thoughtless insensitive moron a few hours later.
I note that the word 'moron' is becoming more and more prevalent as an insult on AB. I wonder if a-h has been taking lessons from Mikey.
