Times have changed, and the times referred to be Danny were the 50s 60s and 70s when the Policewomen's Departments had very few members.
They certainly work on a par with the men now.
They certainly work on a par with the men now.

Terms and conditions apply. :-)
Dave, their work was on a par with the men back then.Just a different type of work.
Yes, I meant they work with the men and do the same duties.
Do they patrol the streets doing a night shift (10pm-6am) I must admit I have never seen any.
They do just the same work and shifts as the men.
then you don't watch the news, whenever there is a fracas, terror plot, bombs going off women are usually in there with their male colleagues.

I know its a police drama, but watch Happy Valley for a taste of what its like to be a police woman this day and age, i am not 100 percent certain that the writer of the drama was herself a serving officer but its very gritty and pretty down to earth.
i admit i was wrong about the writer of Happy Valley

/// now she has to live with that, and get on with her job as she is still a serving officer. ///

Oh my heart bleeds for her, I bet she herself is laughing all the way to the bank.
15 k of course she is ha ha - not.
Emmie, if you look carefully when there is such an incident you might notice the number of police cars that are there after transporting the police there,That is not not the same as patrolling a beat from 10pm to 6am- alone and in all weathers..
15K may be peanuts to you Emmie, but I certainly wouldn't turn it down.
Long term she has not done herself any favours. She will be hated by the men who will see her getting special treatment and hated by the women, especially those that do pass and keep up with the men.

And what boss employs a known trouble maker?
neither did she, perhaps she should have. then there wouldn't be this continual argument over equality.
'And what boss employs a known trouble maker?'

Theresa May.
if she gets the sack that could be grounds for unfair dismissal. My feeling is this will blow over, she will get on with her job come what may
This is cobblers.

Utter cobblers.

From the story:

[i]At least half of serving dog handlers had not taken the ‘elite’ test, so the force could not claim it was necessary for the role.[i]
AOG

Why do you say all her colleagues were forced to complete this test, when according to the story, 50% of dog handlers weren’t?
-- answer removed --
Surely the solution is to give her a smaller dog.
