danny
that is a very sexist statement, if women in the police force who number in their thousands were treated the same perhaps we wouldn't see cases like this come to court.
She felt the case was discriminatory
would you rather see fit, healthy women in the police force, able to run down a perp, or fat unhealthy males, as coppers i have seen often are.
Nothing sexist about it.The policewomen were treated as equals they just did different jobs.
well they don't now.
You first point I get, your other two points don't hold water with me Danny.
Eccles,if you mean you mean that you don't agree with female officers not working nights, let me ask you this:- do you think that it is appropriate for them to deal with ,for example, a full blown bar fight or a violent drunk?
Looks like they will still do different jobs. The bloke copper will be with a viscous Belgin Shepard and the Bimbo will be with a Chihuahua.
who patrols the streets, both male and female officers, who gets the drunks off the streets, male and female officers, they put their lives on the line every day, who is there when a bomb goes off or a terrorist mows down people in the street, male and female officers,

this thread has serious p** me off
I can think of any number of women who could deal with such a situation Danny. Not all women are shrinking violets who should be at home doing their knitting whilst watching soap operas.

I reckon Nicola Adams could handle a bar room brawl.
who takes the drunks, druggies, those in fights to A&E, yes you guessed it male and female officers, its their job and by and large they do it well.

while we are there its nurses of both persuasions who have to deal with the drunks, druggies, brawlers.
I can't remember the name of the case now, but when I was studying law a man was charged under the Public Order Act for causing alarm and fear. His crime? He told a police officer to eff off. The case was thrown out of court, and quite rightly too. Are our police now becoming snowflakes?
I must bow to your vast experience of how a police force works,
Not sure about snowflakes but diminutive lesbian pugilists seem in vogue.
Jack I am quite sure Police Officers are well used to foul mouthed language, even if they detest it.

Tickles me a bit that the Police said this wasn't a test of fitness - No? Well let all serving dog handlers try it then.
Knowing how it works today and knowing how it worked are quite different things Danny.
mamy
indeed.

i don't know why she got the 15k, as you said but she did now she has to live with that, and get on with her job as she is still a serving officer.

True, and I know which system works better.
