TTT....(11:15)...This has beggar-all to do with Theresa "listening" to the people. The "people" were not in favour of repealing the Act before last years Election, and they aren't in favour now, and she should have known that....her judgement was at fault.

But the real reason that she is abandoning this Manifesto promise, is that she realises that she has no chance of winning the vote, and with her slim grip on power, she isn't willing to take the chance.
Question Author
dannyk, I know. She'd personally like to drop the ban; but she's dropping the vote, because she's got nothing to gain and much to lose by holding one.
Question Author
jno....summed up very succinctly !
Seriously I wonder if she is a hunt supporter? “I’d love to ‘elp you but me ‘ands are tied” is a very old trick indeed. So old that it wasn’t new when I used it when working for the NHS. My bet is that personally she doesn’t give a toss one way or the other.
Here is what the various parties presented for the election on animal rights;

I have to say the Tories were not very resolute.
woof she is a supporter and has said so.
Question Author
Khandro....the Tories looks like the only Party that said that they allow cruelty to wild animals, by allowing a free vote of the repeal of the Hunting Act.
Has Jeremy made any comment at all about this.
cause its not only the Tory voters that support fox hunting, plenty of Labour voters do..
Question Author
Labour have never had any plans to repeal the Act that they brought in Emmie....the Tories did.
the trouble with fox hunting by its very nature makes it seem as though its just for toffs, but that is a misconception, plenty of people from all walks of life have taken part, and still do, though it must be done illegally in many places. I don't hold with it never have never will - i reiterate that I find it barbaric in the extreme, if foxes are considered vermin, why aren't they shot by expert marksman, surely a more humane to cull them.
Emmie, thats the whole point of the hands are tied strategy....you say “of course I agree with you and if it was up to me I would xxx like a shot but me ‘ands are tied”
Emmie in many places they are shot if they become a nuisance. I have got a friend who lives in the Highlands and the going rate in lamb time is 20 quid a tail
they have to be more than a nuisance, if they take lambs then i would totally understand there being a cull.
That is what I mwant by nuisance!
but to do it for a bunch of numpties riding to hounds, no i don;t like that idea at all.
Question Author
Emmie....no one doubts that foxes can be pests and need to be controlled.

But its the way that they controlled that is important. As you, and many other people have said it is barbaric.
Personally I couldn't give two fox either way.
It makes no difference really, they are still hunting despite the so called ban ...

Agree with you totally em.
