Don't they remember ? My friend Howard ( from Bradford) and I ( from Halifax ) declared Yorkshire independent in 1968. I'm President, he's been Prime Minister, ever since. Fancy you lot not knowing that !!
Question Author
I have a friend called Howard. And he’s from Bradford.
well they have a haka anyway:

If they do gain independence, would i have to apply for a passport to visit my favourite race-courses, all of which just happen to be across the border?
I have to disagree about the Yorkshire Haka. Obviously the answer to the Haka is to perform the Hokey-Cokey. After all, that IS what it's all about.
Ey oop! Theer's a copy o' t'bible in Yorkshire, tha knows - it starts 'Fust there were now't' and when t'new Bishop visited we sang
'Joy to t' World' to 'Ilkla Moor'. T'words go reet well to t'tune.

Wonderful!!! Double wonderful! Thank you so much, Buen! I got stuck on top of the Calf (no head for heights) and had to be helped down. Shaming :(

For those not in the know, the rocky outcrops are the Cow & Calf outcrop just outside Ilkley.
