Now that BRexit has been achieved, will we see the BLUE passport again? I should say so, but no doubt all those 'orrible red ones must be dished out first.

"lol ichkeria well that would be a cheap brexit then if that's all it takes to make people happy - a blue passport! "

That's why I'm betting there will be no Brexit. Because you can't hijack the future of a country with sentimental arguments like this. I'm also betting Boris and Nigel know this very well, which is why they've ***ed off into the passport-blue yonder :-)
Anyway, getting off the point ...
nope sorry
covered by another convention
and ,,,, they are the wrong size
were OK once but not now

( but of course with Brexit the paradise starts tomorrow ! )
it's America who tells you how your passport has to work. They nearly banned me a few months ago becasue they thought (mistakenly) I didn't have the right sort of passport.
ichkeria - Brexit will, and must happen. If foiled by political wrangling - well the electorate are pretty smart these days.

Democracy is what has protected us from rioting and physical violence and I regret to say that the latter is what will ensue if the will of the people is thwarted here. I don't know how to go about rioting, but I would certainly be in there with civil disobedience (never have been before - anyone want to arrest a grandma with an exemplary record of doing a bit of good?) Come on! That would look really good.

Brexit must and will happen. Even my Corbyn-supporting daughter is, somewhat shakily, coming round to this fact.

and are you coming round to HER view that your vote has scrowed her future for the next 50 y ?

no I thought not
No, of course not PP. I have given her and my grandchildren hope for the future and a country of their own instead of the nightmare of being tied into a disintegrating organisation. I'm very proud of that fact, the best vote I ever cast and I cast it for my children and grandchildren.
Well said, jourdain.
Jim, //I'll be stuck with the stupid red one that's enabled me to do exactly everything a passport's supposed to. //

What an odd thing to say. Do you think a new one won't do the same?
I think Naomi's irony circuits need a tweak.
Mmm.... not sure about that. Such is that little dismal raincloud that hovers permanently above his head these days, that I actually think he's serious.
Like I said....
Never mind the passports, bring back the ten bob note!
You might be right .... but then again.....
Naomi, this might give you a chuckle. It did me. Interesting subject matter:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2036146/Worlds-conversation-chadbots.html
That won't stay visible on my screen for more than a moment. It jumps to a page showing just the Mail heading. Spooky! ;o)
Naomi: A friend of mine who has something like three separate passports (US, UK and Swedish) informs me that they are in some sense not all equal. In theory, yes, but in practice a US passport can be accompanied with a little more scrutiny in some places of the world, making passing international borders a little trickier (as compared to using his Swedish passport, for example), in some places at least. Maybe a UK passport in future would carry a similar, slightly depreciated, status?

But as it happens that wasn't what I was talking about -- I only thought about it once you'd missed the heavy irony in my post -- and all I meant was: why do so many people seem to care so much about the colour of the passport when this has (most likely) nothing to do with its usability?
I've never seen the previous passport so I couldn't give two hoots what the colour of the next one is.
On a separate note, you might not sympathise with the pessimism, but it would be nice if you could accept that it's not exactly unmotivated. Despite everything you say, the future is very uncertain and there are no guarantees that it will be so rosy. I'd be interested to see if there ever comes a point where your almost religious convictions in the promised land awaiting us after Brexit will become challenged by reality. Hopefully not -- I'd far rather you were right than wrong -- but until I know let me enjoy my raincloud of misery in peace.
Jim, I didn't spot the irony simply because you seem to have that little raincloud hanging over you at the moment, so nothing you say would surprise me ...

.....and then you say "Maybe a UK passport in future would carry a similar, slightly depreciated, status?" Hmmm.....
Jim, //you might not sympathise with the pessimism//

I don't. I've never been a pessimist. Don't see the point in it.
