Some Muslims might be peaceful living persons, but they can take on an entirely different mind set when riled.
On LBC's late night radio phone-in, a Muslim gentleman phoned in to air his views on what Donald Trump had said, all to the joy of the presenter who was falling backwood at agreeing with everything the gentleman said, that was until he came out and said that if America implemented Trumps suggestion, the whole of the Muslims in America would rise up and become terrorists.
This didn't go down too well with the presenter, who throughout his phone-in had been harping on about there only being a very, very small amount of radical Muslims, while the vast majority were peace loving.
The presenter soon cut short the telephone conversation with this chap, after he has questioned him on what he had announced to whole of the LBC listening public.

and some christians might be .... and sikhs ... ( terrible when riled - when Guru Nanak says they have to protect women, they go in with knives and god knows what to achieve required protection...)
It was obvious from time zero that the muslims of america were terrified of being deported en masse ( a bit like the Jews from Germany - hey only they werent deported - onlly displaced or resettled in the East )
hence the fambly queuing up to say they had no idea the garage was full of whatever

Couldn't be bothered to do more than check the first link within your link Naomi ... which says

That second paragraph directly conflicts with "When asked, "Is Britain my country or their country?" only one in four say it is. " from the second link in there.
I suspect the rest of the opinions stated in your link are just the opinions of someone who has their own bias and is busy cherry picking survey results.
Further, as we have no idea what the actual questions asked were, nor which sections of the Muslim community were surveryed, there is no way to be sure that the questions were not phrased in a way which elicited the results the questioners wanted.

Yeah...I just wanted to find out whether this thread is one of those general 'discussions about Muslims', or whether anyone seriously thinks that Trump's proposals could work.
I'm certain that (with a couple of possible exceptions) no-one on AB is that...I'm looking for a non-pejorative adjective here...

Yes I worded it with extreme caution, just to see the reaction, sorry to spoil your little games Peter.
Still maintain that every Muslim is a potential terrorist though.

First of all - passports don't include religious affiliation.
Secondly, in order to protect America against extremists, you would have to believe that said extremists would be honest on their passports (if they were to include this information).
Thirdly, in order to include this information, America would have to compel every Muslim in every country in the world to comply.
This is not possible.
If, instead the US were to amend their visas (bypassing the passport question), then again, what is to prevent extremists from lying?
Also, America is far more likely to be attacked by American Muslims, than inbound Muslims (cf. the Boston bombings) - how would these proposals prevent this?
How would the US maintain its relationship with allies in the Middle East with this blanket ban?
How would America maintain its business and trade deals with every single country that has a Muslim population with this blanket ban?
Trump's idea sounds like something a drunk person would suggest in a pub on the way home on a Friday night.
It doesn't sounds particularly workable - like the giant wall that he proposed be built between the US and Mexico.
