Waiting For The Royal Baby

People have been camped outside the hospital for up to a fortnight awaiting the birth of Kate and William’s new baby. Does anyone understand why?

How silly is it that people camp outside big London stores waiting for the sales to start and then, once the doors are open, they go mad inside and just pick up anything that they can grab?

I don't think they're nuts or eccentric. They just want the thrill of being there - and being able to tell everyone "they were there" - when the birth is announced.

It's not something I would dream of doing but I agree with cloverjo, they just want to be part of it. Kate could always sneak off and have it somewhere else (especially in light of the recent superbug at the hospital) :)

agree with B00 and Cloverjo, they just want to be there when somethng newsworthy happens; eccentric maybe but mostly no more than that (though a small number of them are downright obsessives). No need for name-calling.

For someone who readily takes offence over nothing I am surprised she was prepared to use a remark that she may find offensive if it had been addressed to her.
