Od course these characters have reformed (i.e. stopped smuggling drugs). They've been in the Chokey for ten years! As has been said, it is quite well known that many far eastern countries have the death penalty available for such crimes. They were stupid. They should have brought their contraband to the UK. They'd have long since served their sentence...

We don't have the death penalty, especially not for drug offences. I find it a bit abhorrent myself, life imprisonment would be more appropriate so yes they deserve a second chance at staying alive.
I do not agree with the death penalty.

But if you commit a crime in a country that has the death penalty then you have only yourself to blame.

If you are a foreign visitor to that country, you should not expect the law to be changed if the death penalty is what an Indonesian would get.

They have probably caused scores of deaths and lots of misery to the people they were profiting off, so I will not lose any sleep if justice is done.

Give drug smugglers a second chance,
let's think about this for a moment,
Ok, thought about it, NO WAY!

Drug smuggling is not a minor offence like shoplifting. Thousands die from their trade.

// Male drug misuse deaths (involving illegal drugs) increased by 23%, from 1,177 in 2012 to 1,444 in 2013. Female drug misuse deaths increased by 12%, from 459 in 2012 to 513 in 2013. //

They were caught in a Country that has the Death Penalty. Bad luck boys!

///Chan and Sukumaran were arrested in Bali in 2005 while attempting to smuggle heroin to Australia.
A court ruled that they had organised a nine-member smuggling operation and they were sentenced to death in 2006.◾In 2006 a court ruled that Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran had recruited the others and paid their costs. They were sentenced to death///

Can you name a country in the world where drug smuggling is legal. These Australians are not that far from Indonesia and must of been aware that the Indonesian legal system has" judged each crime on it's merit" and decided that the death penalty will be the maximum sentence in their penal code. Most far east countries have signs in the arrival hall of their airports saying "If the drugs don't kill you WE will" Tough .You don't smuggle drugs and expect to get away scot free in ANY country except some apply the death penalty and others don't.
Seems pretty clear to me, the crime carries the ultimate penalty in that country, which now must be paid.

Yes their error was drug smuggling in a country that clearly uses the death sentence for doing so.!!
When in Rome.......pity we do not adhere to our laws instead of bending it for some.
18lbs heroin....how many addicts would that start? They showed no concern their drug may wreak to users. Why should we show concern for them? Get rid !

What happen to Jobabob?

Every post has been removed so cannot find a profile. Seemed to have been a new member, but posted plenty in their short time. Possibly a previously banned member or someone trying to set up a multiple identity.

They'll be back!
Yep.
They joined yesterday, no questions but lots of answers when I looked a couple of hours ago.
Is/was Jobabob someone I should know?

Presumably the Ed removed them, so you think they will be back as another user name?
