That is rather a cruel analogy. As horrific as the plane crash was I believe there is a world of difference from a sadly mentally unbalanced pilot who slipped through the net and a bunch of Islamists who kill thousands of innocent victims because of their perverted ideology and desire for martyrdom. That pilot killed as a result of a mental illness. These Islamists kill for the hell of it.
Was there a political motive behind the Alps crash, mushroom?

Zacs-Master - the Christians prefer mass mechanised military invasion under the rather meaningless label of 'regime change'.
you are all correct of course - cruel, bad taste, and so on.

maybe the mods can remove it?

Morning??????????? that of course should be mourning.

One has to be so careful with so many academics around.
Andy, I note your stance as a pacifist.
//Pretty much like Christians then ... or any faith under the sun. //

Islam is not like any faith under the sun - except Islam.
When troubles come they come not single spies...
First his daughter runs off and now he's pilloried in the press and here on AB.
He's the author of his own misfortune.
Police should withdraw their apology - don't know why they apologised in the first place !!

Gromit : if he had been standing quietly at a dignified protest I would agree that he should not be labelled as an extremist.

He wasn't - he was at the front, burning flags and associating with some of the most obnoxious extremists I can think of.

His 'fake bafflement' at how/why his daughter was radicalised is just laughable - even if he didn't do it, he must have known the possibility existed.

The police made a mistake, yes, but his seizure of that error as a stick with which to beat the UK establishment is a revolting hypocrisy.
Gromit
The fact that the father protested about a blasphemous film 3 years ago is not relevent. It does not prove he is an extremist, and it does not mean he indocrinated his child.

You're prabably right. I bet he told his family he was going to the dentist rather than he was going out to rant about the west and burn a few flags.
// the killing of Lee Rigby, and also in this case, a trial is just a formality. //

Oh dear, Oh no you sweet old thing

Capital cases are NEVER a formality. Owing to the historical fact that murderers swung if convicted there were all sorts of 'other' categories - manslaughter, diminished responsibility, provocation, guilty but insane, unfit to plead, infanticide
and so on and so on

Murder trials a formality... hahaha
how sweet and innocent !
well spotted Talbo - a photo proves diddly squat
er... I think it is a video, Peter.
Anyone know if UAF were out in force protesting against and fighting with the Islamo-fascists ,and if not why not?Seems they only want to fight with anyone apart from the Islamists
