This chap Marchessini is quite clearly stark raving bonkers, and when CH4, amongst others, point this out, its a case of "snide bashing of UKIP" ? Really ? Did you think about that comment before you pressed the submit button brenden ? whilst the views of this man are quite clearly looney, the embarrassing part surely is that he is an immigrant.

Should UKiP accept donations from Rich Greeks? Probably not. Not even if his views were more acceptable.
Loads of money has been donated to all parties by shady characters or people like Mr Marchessini with very strong "personal" views - another snide bashing of UKIP.

Really ?

Did you think about that comment before you pressed the submit button brenden ? How extreme and offensive does a UKIP supporter have to be before you are prepared to admit that, yet again, UKIP has failed to do its homework properly ?

I have just watched the ghastly Neil Hamilton being interviewed on CH4 News. Can anybody who professes to support UKIP possibly to proud of this man, who is Deputy Chair of UKIP ? He said, quite clearly, that the party doesn't care who its donors are, as long as they keep coming up with the goods.

Isn't this a case of shooting the messenger, because the message isn't popular ?

Beware of Greeks bearing gifts is a lesson that perhaps Farage and his party should learn tonight !

I said on AB only last night that its won't be long before UKIP is found out by another stupid and avoidable faux pax, but I didn't think it would be less that 24 hours after the last one !
Ha ha...bless him.

You know when someone says things that are just so 'out there', that, that...

You know...
This makes interesting reading. Varying personal agendas playing out here in so few answers.
I have to hold my hand up and say that by no stretch of the imagination do I think that any man has the right to rape his wife, and in my opinion, based on personal knowledge, gay people are capable of building loving relationships.
well, I'm pleased to hear that, sp1814. Though I'm sure Ukip would accept your donation anyway.
Another reason not to vote UKIP. Accept money from people like this and you are accepting their twisted views.
jno

My days of donating to a political party are long gone!

Precisely because of the dirt the media might dredge up about me (for a start, own a Steps album - was drunk when I bought it).
I expect he's really part of, or in the pay of the "Tory Dirty Tricks" organisation.
you can dismiss it as the folly of youth, sp1814. Tell them you played it but didn't inha... well, listen to it.
So let me get this straight, a lunatic has donated money to UKIP, and continues to do so.

Thanks for the info - I guess I'd better not vote for them then. Are there any loonies donating to the other parties? I need to know which ones I should rule out of consideration.
he should be the new prime minister :) ( trousers off ladies )
The argument isn't being made that one nutcase undermines UKIP. That would be silly. The argument is being made that UKIP is attracting huge numbers of nutcases and does not seem to care about it or make any serious efforts to filter its supporters.

Every time this happens (which is coming close to every 5 minutes) we get a transparent and meaningless assurance that the party has distanced itself from whoever - until it happens again, when the same thing happens.

And bizarrely that seems enough for some people. If we discovered Farage sitting on a throne made of cake and a little crown made of raisins and nuts then it would all be probably be totally legit if he just waved his bejewelled hand and said "nooooo I'm totally not king of the fruitcakes." Seriously, what would be enough to make people actually start questioning this party's credibility instead of sticking their fingers in their ears and accusing everyone of being terrified?
I haven't understood why UKIP has been popular for some time Kromovaracun, and this latest faux pas by them makes it even more difficult to puzzle out.

Just what is it going to take to convince people that UKIP are just a badly organised rabble ? How many more revelations need there be before the truth dawns on the voters that a vote for this bl**dy shower is just a waste of time ? Surely the fact the Neil Hamilton is Deputy Chair should speak volumes...what next...will they be employing Jeffrey Archer in some capacity as well ?
As already said "yet another snide bashing of UKIP."

It is interesting to note however that the Left are more frightened of UKIP than the rest of the parties put together, yet they constantly tell us that the Tories should fear UKIP of steeling some of their votes. surely if that is the case they should be encouraging them to vote UKIP.

Nigel Farage was forced to cancel his trip to Swansea for safety reason when Left Wingers threatened violence, what are we coming to when those who are always harping on about fair play and discrimination prevent a leader of a legitimate political party from electioneering.

But then the Left are sheer hypocrites, as the excellent portrayal we see below proves.

Well said AOG. It looks like all this scaremongering has made some people turn even more hysterical and now resorting to violence.
Mickey - Before you start berating me for my haste in pressing the submit button and for me to admit that UKIP has not done its homework properly I would suggest that you should read abers posts correctly and when wrong be big enough to apologise (Euracism, Euricist 20,57). I stand by my post when I say that ALL parties accept shady donations, some with strings attached, perhaps Marchessini's views are due to his beliefs - don't know - don't care, its a good job we do not know all that goes on behind closed doors - we would not vote for any of them. I have made it so clear that I hope Nigel Farage does well in the local elections (As a wake up call to our main parties) but of course he will fail in the General (because they are being voted for on only one policy ) and by the way I am NOT a UKIP supporter by X goes to another party in general elections
Mikey, //I haven't understood why UKIP has been popular for some time //

As has been said many times it's because they are saying what a lot of people want to hear. It's a simple as that. Stop fretting - they won't win a general election.
