one of the accused over Lee Rigby's murder has described himself as a Soldier of Allah, if so are there more who will follow his example and see this as a war with the west. The family of Lee Rigby must be devastated

It would be unwise of us not to believe that there are more self-styled 'Soldiers Of Allah', emmie. Whether or not they would be prepared to carry out any such atrocities is for time to tell. this was committed by a British citizen on another, who was as i pointed out unarmed, not to mention that comments made by some over the killing of a Taliban operative by a British soldier, reported in the news recently. who has or is going to prison for a long stretch, some suggesting he should go to prison for life.
If that is the case let us hope these two men get life, no parole
As to the question, very few actually answered it, should we expect more atrocities like these, the killing of British citizens here in UK.
The sooner we are out of these countries the better, then no one has any ammunition to lob at our so called interference. Though of course there will be the people who say we should go and help in places like Syria, which in my opinion would be completely wrong, damned if we do and damned if we don't.

SP, not nearly so many, look at areas like Bethnal Green, East End, always a poor rather down at heel area, now chock full of people from Pakistan, Somalia, and Afghanistan. However if no one noticed one of the men was from a good Christian family, i don't think he lived in London either, so not amongst those of a similar persuasion perhaps?

no i don't think its the media coverage, i think that this has been on the rise for a long time, now they will use all the ammunition to use it against us over our so called involvement in Islamic countries, all the while ignoring the fact their Muslim brothers are killing other Muslims, Syria, Egypt, and so on. As to more on our streets, i can see it happening.

no it certainly wasn't, plenty of atrocities long before. In the name of Allah of course, and before anyone jumps in with well we shouldn't be in their countries, then let us hope they stop asking, begging the west for help when they have a coup, crisis, war, that way they have no excuse for their murderous actions on our citizens.

I hate what they've been doing in recent years - Invading other countries killing thousands of locals who are no threat to us.
In the early days I'm sure there were some who joined up with the best intentions but as we've now been in Afghanistan for over a decade I think pretty much anyone there now joined up specifically to go and fight abroad and simply didn't think or didn't care about what they were ging to be doing.
I think the vast majority were/are 'adventurers' looking for excitement and a path out of the dead end jobs that poor academic performance left them with.
Do I hate them? No
I just have no time for the vast majority of them.
If they truely want to serve their country - which is the usual excuse - then the country is in desperate need of people to care for its old and its sick.
You want to find this country's heroes - go to the NHS or homes for those with dementia

have you been in a NHS hospital lately, if so you know they are not full of angels with bedpans, they are often staffed with people who have lost of the art of compassion, caring, the statistics on hospitals, their services and places like Mid Staffordshire should be a warning that there is a massive problem with the NHS. To compare the two seems strange to me.
In the times of crisis who do we turn to, if it's a war like WW1, WW2, it's the armed services, and those who volunteer obviously do so willingly, those who are called up may not, but like those two wars most did so out of a sense of duty. These days our armed services are often called upon to do other duties than go and shoot the Taliban, Al Qaeda, and they didn't ask to go to Afghanistan, Iraq, they had no choice, it's their job. These countries ask for help, they wonder why the west does nothing when many of their citizens die, look at the shambles that is the Middle east, look at the hell that is Syria, if they ask for the west help, should we do it, no we shouldn't - these stupid double standards get on my wick.
