And in particular China it seems.

Excellent news for Brummies and something we should all be triumphant about, even if JLR is owned by Tata.

Time now to get behind our country and forge our way into 2014 and beyond rather than listen to the anti British Nay sayers who continually put our country down.

And on that subject, an excellent last night at the proms. All those flags and renditions of Land of Hope and Glory must erally get the Muselli spluttering!

British workers have been building popular cars for years. Just not for British bosses - as in this case, where they'll be working for Indians.
Well done JLR

And an excellent 'Last Night' I agree

Particularly enjoyed the American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato and 'Lark Ascending'

Another great production by the BBC
Yes, Mr Mistry at Tata Motors has worked wonders. Now the plant is properly managed, the workforce, who have alway been able to build cars unhindered by poor management.
Decent number of new jobs, I hope this project works out not just for 2014 but beyond. Great news.
And don't forget this will also use components supplied probably largely from British firms and money will go into local businesses elsewhere.

Tata got a great bargain from Ford - just such a pity there were no UK based organisations with the vision and guts to take them both on

Anthony Bamford of JCB was going to bid but wouldn't buy Land Rover as part of the package.

He must be regretting that now
Last time I went to Birmingham someone aked me If I wanted a copper tie!
Muselli? Is he one of these modern atonal Italian composers?
So is this Excellent News for Brummies, re - paying them for their taxes that Cameron gave away to India in foreign aid, to a country that probably has more millionaires than the UK, well done, Dave and George..

Well done Gromit, you just cant help being a Nay sayer can you?

I suspect a good deal of the Management is still British!!
it isn't always poor management that stuffs things up, and this is good news, as for the last Night of the Proms, wasn't Nigel Kennedy and Joyce Didanato amazing, she is the most extraordinary singer.
"Worked wonders...properly managed...able...unhindered".
All these words/phrases used by Gromit sound extremely positive and upbeat to me. Consequently, how he can be categorised as a "nay sayer" is beyond me!
because he often is. usually at the expense at the so called elite......
Saw this on morning TV. Accept that a company needs to thrive, but looking at the model it didn't much look like it was going to rove over any land. Down the road, sure. Hasn't the badge lost its raison d'etre ?
Erally ? Muselli ?
It was a Jaguar Geez, not a Land Rover
Ah, I should have paid more attention to the news item. That said they were enthusing about how well land rover were doing now having turned things around, and look at this new model.
Yes excellent news, but why does everything that is a money making success have to belong to foreign firms, our country seems to be being sold from under our very feet.?

These make disturbing reading

Re- Last night of the Proms, I personally thought that this year's was the worse one I have ever seen, so much so that I turned it off.

Didn't anyone tell Nigel Kennedy that he was not attending a 'Tramp's Supper'?
Like I said AOG

One British businessman, the founder of JCB was interested but just didn't have the vision to see that Landrover would be worth buying as part of the deal.

We just don't have enough good quality management with the guts and the vision and as a result foreign companies who do acquire our best.

It's actually remarkable that RR aero engines managed to avoid that fate when the car arm went to Germany
