Right, that is it, I now refuse to cook any more paella
quick strike up the guns, let's go and have another war, that would at least take care of the over crowding on our little island.
who do you reckon would fight for us, seeing how many people live here from endless foreign ports...

Good Lord!

They have not forgiven maggie , have they .
So we're at war with Spain then are we?

What about this case?

Totally different I suppose
What were these Spanish naval vessels actually doing, do we know?
Plainly they shouldn't have been there but were they actually spoiling for a military conflict over a stick of rock infested with apes
Question Author
Yes Em they would leave like rats leaving a ship.

Even so the question would also have to be asked, have we another Drake or even a Nelson?
Has anybody heard Drake's Drum sound?
Question Author
Too cold to be playing bowls.
Spain is a fellow member of NATO and it's very unlikely we'll go to war with them.
They wouldn't want to go to all the trouble of interning all the exPats.
//have we another Drake or even a Nelson? //

why the doubt aog?

do you think our naval efforts have been unremarkable since 1805?
"Sqad the internee" ... the mind boggles Sandy :-)
By day he would play the role of the self sacrificing doctor caring for all the other internees but at night he'd be organizing the digging a tunnel from the island to France and freedom.
don't you bet on it, he will undoubtedly join who ever is likely to win, and that ain't necessarily us.
actually i would send Prince Philip to sort this out, he looks like a man in need of a war.
Perhaps we could reciprocate.

Send a few ships to the north african territories Spain occupies?

Or blockade The Canaries on behalf of the Moroccans?
Well one European Naval ship enters European waters

Big deal
We could send them all the Paeds in exchange.....
