Does he imagine being a famous actor endows him with some inherent knowledge of foriegn affairs? Most Americans couldn't even find the islands on the map, what makes this particular one special?

Did he have a role in the film version of Evita? Maybe he feels an affinity with all things Argentinian.
Someone should point out the facts to the numpty.
Perhaps he's been reading AB and feels that if everyone else is holding forth on things they know nothing about why not get in on the act
"Most Americans couldn't even find the islands on the map"

Probably about the same % as Brits who could point at them.

I think most Brits know where they are.

No - but his ex-wife played Evita in the film, perhaps that's where you got the association from.
Is he still an actor or a prize plonker?

Obviously he wasn't educated at school.
"most Brits" - really!

You know what? I would't have a clue as to where the Falklands were. I could have a wild stab by pointing at a land mass near south America, but I bet I'd be wrong.

Then again - I couldn't tell you which one is Jersey and which is Guernsey.
he seems fairly well informed. He's an idiot because he disagrees with you, perhaps?
He's been married to Madonna. Therefore he knows what real suffering is.

He's one of many who seem to think that because they got lucky enough to become a well off movie star they are important enough and intelligent enough to offer the world their "wisdom".
Assuming most Brits know where Argentina is , then I assume they will know where The Falklands are .
He has always been of, and on, the Left, politically.

This recent statement, by him, is in-keeping with the rest of his views. I think he is at liberty to say such things, even if I believe him to be wrong on this issue.
SP, you'd have no trouble with a map in front of you, they're the only islands of notable size down there!
He should stick to what he is meant to be doing, and leave other things alone
the only thing that makes him different from ABers in offering opinions about faraway places is that he does it under his own name.
He's probably got a film coming out in Argentina!

\\He's one of many who seem to think that because they got lucky enough to become a well off movie star \\\

It would seem from many of your posts that you have a problem with "well off people" Have you ever thought that their success is not a matter of "being lucky" but that of hard work and devotion?
When did the Falklands ever belong to Argentina..............
