I have a question, AOG.

You've been quite emphatic that the protestors here should have been cracked down on by police pretty much from the minute they set up camp.

Let's say, just hypothetically speaking (so please don't dismiss the question), that you thought they were right, or that their protest made a good point, or if you were even remotely sympathetic to its cause. If, say, they were protesting against mass (im)migration instead of against capitalism. Would you still feel the same way? Would you still be so eager to forcefully break them up?

I'd appreciate a direct and honest answer. Thankyou.
When Boris can get off his backside i guess, but then again have they done any real harm. A nuisance i grant you, and fairly pointless, but it's their right to protest as everyone keeps saying.
Would you fancy the Syrian solution to such 'problems', AOG?

And if not why not?

The Corporation of London are now taking action, so the news report says, so not sure what that means, only that they have lost patience with the protesters.
Maybe you should reread one of your own posts, AOG, and then quietly consider whether (just maybe) you have a blind spot somewhere.

It's London, not New York. We should stand side by side with them to fight off the police. St. Pauls should also give us sanctuary!
Instead of pontificating on here and other threads, Messi, why don't you get off your rear and go down there then?
And it is all organised Messi by people with an agenda and a lot of money, the protestors are just little willing pawns who are disposable to them - I actually feel quite sorry for them for being used so blatantly.
Sorry DT, forgot you're the only one allowed to pontificate.

Brenden, no one is being used, keep your sorrow for the bankers.
You are so full of it Messi. "we should stand side by side with them to fight off the police" - what with you sitting at your computer - all talk no do just about sums you up.
just like many i have seen on here, right on brothers, we are with you, except they are not, just as some have said, pontificating about something they know nothing about. The fact is nothing will be achieved by the protesters with the best will in the world, except some may catch cold, when the weather really turns. The bankers, people who work in that part of the world won't, don't care, and whether one likes it or not, London's financial centres generate a lot of capital, and not just for the bankers or banking industry.
I was there at the weekend. The camp is extremely neat and tidy, nothing that wouldn't have been allowed in my mother's living room, and a good deal better organised than the average scout/guide camp. Those I spoke to were friendly and polite. They got in the way of absolutely nobody.

Sometimes I wonder if ABers really know what they're talking about.
Nice try Kromo but I feel you are expecting His Thickship to think beyond his capabilities.
"Pontificating about something they know nothing about" - so you've been there have you em10 ?
I have, and I back up what JNO just said 100%.
Looks like El-Gitidente has bitten off more than he can chew here.
AP, yes, it's on our doorstep more or less, and have talked with a few, no more enlightened than watching the news

First may I apologise for the delay in getting back to you.

Yes you have asked me a fair question, in a very polite way, without the need to include any needless insults, so you therefore deserve an equally straightforward answer.

I maintain that from day one the protesters should never have been allowed to set up a camp on the City's streets, but they have now been there for over a month and the time is long overdue for them to be removed.

I have no issue against them protesting, even if their protest falls on 'deaf ears'.

As regards their protest making a good point, I along with many others are not quite sure what their point is.

In answer to you asking "if they were protesting against mass immigration, would I feel the same way".........My answer is yes if they set-up a camp in a similar way.

Now may I ask you a question, since it seems you are in defence of this protest camp site...........Would you also defend the right for a 'Right-Wing' protest group to also set-up their camp?

They have made their protest, and without the need for the council to take out any injunctions to have them removed, as this could take years (just as the illegal traveller's camp did), they should now be removed at once, before they erect barriers and scaffolding etc to protect their camp, what would you say then?

Incidentally I now hear that those travellers, returned to the site soon after, and the council will have to go through all that procedure once again.
Pleased to see Messi is doing nothing, only moaning.....
"you have asked me a fair question, in a very polite way, without the need to include any needless insults, so you therefore deserve an equally straightforward answer" LMAO, this obsequious pretext reminds me of a schoolgirl whispering into the ear of a friend while all the time gazing to one side at the person she's whispering about.
I drove past this lot the other day and was totally underwhelmed. It was almost laughable.

Just leave me there, they're a bit of a tourist attraction.
it always surprises me when people are rude, what is the point.
AP i did answer your question.
