That should get the heckles going! This is not 1973. It's not 1985. It's not 2008. This is 2019 where a succesion of Tory led govts have managed, over the previous 10 years, to increase the National Debt by approx 12%. During those 10 years, the Tories have "carefully invested in the future of this country" by implementing something called austerity, where everyone has to pay through the nose for excessive and reckless Tory borrowing.
But that expression isn't used in the Tory media. Not with reference to the Tories, anyway. Nope. It's Labour that would go for excessive and reckless borrowing. The Tories do as well, but it's how you say it and organise an assassination of the opposition to hide your own deficencies. The Tories will borrow to high heaven to fund their "investment in the UK". Their record over the previous 10 years proves it. They can't be trusted with the economy because they will increase the national debt. And all this could happen with a potential PM who is a proven liar and a proven racist who, when challenged in the Commons earlier this year, refused to apologise for his lies and racism. He has apparently apologised quite recently, but he has only done so because his constant refusal would potentially cost votes. Not because he's sorry or remorseful. The Tories will bankrupt this country with their borrowing. Vote Labour and give the country back to the people, not the private contractors, who are probably all members of the Tory party.

Liam Byrne left a note saying the coffers were bare that was supposed to be a joke, only it was true. we have been climbing out of the s hit hole ever since.
Why would loads of people lose their jobs under a Labour government?
Dunno Clover but it's better than losing more nurses aye.

I don't think Labour will get a majority or even have most seats, however there's a possibility that the Tories won't either. So if Boris can't form a government then Labour might be invited to. The Lib Dems and SNP might agree to some loose agreement, probably not a coalition. Or we might (shudder) have another election next spring or summer. You'll note the maybes, buts, possiblys and ifs.
"at least the Labour Party are honest".....should that not go in the jokes section?
Clover, //Why would loads of people lose their jobs under a Labour government?//

I posted this some days ago:

//Labour intend hitting businesses and oil companies with high taxes. The result will be that the cost is passed on to the consumer meaning potential job losses and higher prices for everything, including fuel. The people least likely to be able to afford higher prices are the poor. Since concern for the poor is an on-going theme here, can anyone who is concerned for the poor but is nevertheless intending to vote Labour, rationalise their choice? Where is the sense in voting Labour? //

Business is the lifeblood of the economy. Wage war on that and the country is in trouble. No business, no investment, no aspiration, no growth, no jobs. It’s not rocket science.

There is more but I’m beginning to feel like a parrot….
Where there is people and demand, there is business. Money will go from oil to sustainable fuels. That's the progression of our society. There has to be a change at some point. Those in jobs in such industries will have to either, find new work, change industry to sustainable energy or be unemployed. I'm sure they will be compensated.
or end up on the longer and longer dole queue
Longer Dole queue means more people working at the Dole. Where there is demand there is money.

Lets use the war for example. Big industry booster.

So glib and how easy it is for it to roll off your tongue.
You,only several weeks ago ,were bemoaning your lot about your lack of work and unable to buy your own 2 bed house. When it was suggested you up stumps and look for work elsewhere you had a fit of the vapours. I suppose unemployment under a Corbyn regime seems attractive to you.

//Lets use the war for example. Big industry booster. //

The Arms industry would be the first Industry that Corbyn would decommission. More job losses in the UK and a major drop in the economy.
If someone can't find work, how on earth can they pack up and move? It's not affordable. Get with the times Retro.
"The Arms industry would be the first Industry that Corbyn would decommission. "

Do you have any information that even suggests that this could be at all true? I think it's sheer fabrication.
Labour says that the number of workers who will be affected by its plans in just two of the industries it intends to target is 163,000. Find new jobs? Perhaps Jeremy has a magic wand as well as a magic money tree.

It would be best that Corbyn's policies do not create unemployment rather than increase it. Wouldn't it?
Well if we want to talk employment lets look at the demand for Nurses.

Whilst people are worried about big oil firms and how it will rise the price of petrol and affect oil workers, people care about the people that our nation relies on.
Naomi - put your old scratchy record away and do us all a favour. You seem to think you're the expert economic spokesperson on this site and you most definitely are not.
In fact, vote Labour, vote LibDem vote anything other than Tory.
Naomi is the one user that can say what she wants and people won't call for a source or material to support her claims. Apparently to some, Naomi24 is the source.
